D22 temp gauge going fully to H and normal

Have a problem with temp gauge going fully to H and then back to normal is dose not stay hot for long and only happens when driving can leave it idle all day with no problem
I had a previous tread on this it just seem to be overheating on hills,
took waz's advice and flushed the systems it was ok for a few weeks but started again.
So I flushed again had a sniff test and pressure test changed thermostat and fan belts Rad cap also there is a water hose going to ERG valve and the valve is blocked so I also block on exhaust side has anybody disconnected this water hose after blocking erg valve
Any help must appreciated

Just an update on the problem nav overheating
if I put into a high gear 4th and get the revs under 2k if will start to get hot then pull in and rev high it will get cool it has to be the water pump
on normal driving the temp gauge just jumps up and down every now again

Viscous fan coupling?

I was tossing between fan and pump but the bottom pipe was still cold and it was not long after take off when i tested

put in new water pump and flushed system again still getting hot and bottom pipe cold rad seems ok as I had it off and gave it a good flush
