Hi all,
I did the EGR blanking off on my 2005 D40 and when i took it for a drive as soon as I gave it any welly it would go into what I can only describe as "limp mode".
I have a Tuning box on it and so set it to the setting below it's current one (as I guessed it was to do with the influx of cleaner air) and it was OK (but a little less pokey)....does this sound right? :|
Or have I done something wrong?
Many thanks you helpful people!!
Jon
PS. Not fitted my K&N yet as it hasn't arrived so running a standard paper air filter/cleaner.

Forget the k&n they are oil based filters and can coat the air flow meter and cause incorrect readings. They are rearly good On old diesel engines with no afm style air metering sensors. Pipercross filters are better for modern diesel engines

I wouldn't put k&N on a mechanical diesel either. I like my filters to filter.

But your engine expects the EGR to work. Just blanking it works on some engines, others recognise the greater than expected airflow and throw a check engine light at you. The fix is to get a remap with the EGR table and EGR flow correction tables flattened.
