Hello,

My YD25 engine in the Pathfinder, after some loud noises, made the usual bang and....that was it.
Four valves bent, the left camshaft broken in five pieces - all this because the lower chain snaped.
Well the engine is out, the head beeing serviced and me ordering parts.
I have found a good offer for the new timing chain kit and I took it. Surprise - it comes with duplex chains - both of them and all the gears except for the vacuum pump. And I am stuck here. Which sproket can I install to match the whole rest. Any ideea please?
Somehow I understood that initialy the D22 Navara's were duplex chained. Is it correct? The sproket comes only with the pump or also separate?
Any ideea is highly apreciated.
I have also contacted Billcar Enginnering which were truly suportive and fast with an answer. But their solution consists in a new pump with gear but on exchange basis with mine. If I would live in UK this will be the perfect solution but from here all the costs involved are well over my budget. Any how thank you again Billcar.
So if any of you knows what can I do please let me know.
Thank you again

The warranty is history by now. The problem is that I do not know what to look for. A full pump or just a new sproket. Which one matches ?
There was on ebay a pump for sale for about 70 pounds but they were shipping only in UK. Now is gone anyhow.

Problem solved. If you find yourself in the same situation here it is:
Buy from scrapy a vacuum pump from a D22. Doesn't matter if it works ok or not. On the D40 or Pathfinder it can not be swaped as is because the japs modified it. It acts only as a donnor. What we do is to open the back - 3 bolts, and to take only the axel and the sproket. The new and the old pump are the same on the interior but not on the exterior. Same with the new pump - remove the back cover and extract the axel. The ''old"axel fits perfectly to the new pump. Close the pump carefully and install the double sproket. Now you have a double link timing. Succes ! Do not wory about what you find inside the pump - also a child can do the job. It is a centrifugal thing which creates vacuum by rotating. A 10 minutes job with only hand tools.
Topic can be closed.
Thank you

Hello

The engine was 180.000 km when it broke. No wonder after this stupidity from Nissan with oil changes every 30.000 km.
The timing kit was from ebay - seller from Lithuania (delivered asap). The cheapest one but looks like good quality. It comes full - 2 chains, crank sproket, cams - 2 sprokets and the big diesel pump sproket. All double geared. Plus all the plastic sliders and the two tensioners. The plastic sliders are about 2-3 mm longer and need a litle adjusting but very easy. What was missing was this vacuum pump sproket but as I explained previously just find a D22 pump (complete with sproket) and job done.
Best regards
