Hi all, very new to this forum although I have owned a patchy for 2 yrs now and until recently absolutely no problems with it at all. :) its a 2005 model T-Spec great car although on the country roads can be a little uncomfortable but otherwise great all rounder. Recently replaced both front hubs track rod ends and bottom ball joints all quite simple DIY stuff but the reason for changing the hubs were that my abs light was on and just thought mabe one was faulty concise ring it's done 72000 miles. Alas it wasn't so went to Nissan dealer and it turned out to be the rear sensors needing cleaned up as elec conections were corroded!!
Also just started going into limp mode on occations so with the help of this fantastic forum diagnosed it as being the suction control valve so just waiting for that to arrive and gonna tackle replacing it now!!
But I now have another annoying problem when driving really slowly with the window open I hear a sqeak thought it was a bush but on raising the rear wheèls and spinning them it appears to be coming from the rear end of the drive shaft as it enters the diff!! Can someone tell me if this is gonna be fatal or just needing greased or lubricated some how??
Many thanks in advance and just to add this forum is by far one of the best I have encountered.
Merry Christmas to everyone on here and all the best for 2012. :) :santa:

It very much sounds like you need to replace the uj on the prop shaft, and it sounds like you should be able to do it yourself if you have managed to do all the other stuff. To double check this is the problem if you spray it with WD40 it should stop the squeak short term.
Here is a link to the type of part you need, loads of places sell them http://www.milneroffroad.com/index.php? ... ct_id=1909 :thumbleft:

Good info as i have the exact same problem with my navara. Only hear it when driving slowly and having made a few trips to multi story car parks recently with christmas shopping and all that good stuff, it's been very noticeable.

just got the bit and gonna fit it asap, but had a guy test drive it and he heard a knocking from the rear diff area when power on power off power on, could this be the same part the knock is coming from or more seriously the diff itself??! There is no whine or anything so I think its just the hardy spicer, any feed back welcome , thanks

If its well worn it will definitely clunk when you come on and off the power. I had a real bad one once and was very relieved when they finally got it in to fix it.
Don't leave yours till its too late!

Replaced it tonight but when you come on and off the power it still clunks!!!!! thinking i should also replace the foremost spicer now, but is it or could it be something else?? I was at Nissan in December and the transmission and everything else got a health check PASS so i am thinking it cant be the diff, but is this just optimism!!! Under normal driving you dont hear anything as long as your not a clunky gear changer, only spotted this when someone came to test drive it and thought it was serious issue..........Any help most welcome, thanks.....
