If you get down towards cartagena, there is a village about 100 kilometre south called San Juan de Los Terreros, worth a visit and there are a few campsites in the area. Relax and enjoy, and dont forget to hity the Supermercado and get yourself some Mahoo gold beer at 6 euros a case! Tastes better than the San Miguel! :cheers2:
Thanks for the tip :thumbright: just hitting catalonia, will check above and see where we head out to and how far away.

Was thinking here we go again......... but at 5.30 picked up a 61 plate X-Trail Teckna, 6 speed manual  with all the toys on it. Dealer said I wouldn't be happy as not auto, but hey their clutch not mine. Think they supplied it as it's the 173bhp and auto only 150, but we'll see how we go.

Now to correspond with Nissan GB re my 'white elephant' :?

Kids already starting 'wouldn't it be funny if this one goes into limp mode'................... nooooooooooooooo  :pale:

Teaching assistant - joined school when we moved from Kent to Leicestershire, my 'little un' didn't want to move so it was to make sure he settled, then one thing led to another and became assistant.

Have van bought Nav to tow van, Nav not been round much so no van use, hence the 6 wks :) other half joins us half way threw hols alls gud gives me and kids chance to fall out and she picks up the pieces when she comes out

Well after afew days at a site which wasn't to our liking, we've moved. X-Trail doing the business, although im sure the brakes are gonna be shot on it's return to Nissan, still easy driving without van and it's returning 50mpg  . From last site to new one returned 47 mpg on an hrs drive - impressed.

Still awaiting a response from Nissan re my truck, had to e-mail MD again as no response from original communication to them

Hear UK now covered in sun shine now we've left  , 32's here and kids doing my head in, roll on their mom joining us  . Mahou order of the day I think

Glad to hear you are all having a good old time :clappy: also see that you are impressed with the X-Trail, just knew you would be  , pound for pound much better than its rival's (L/Rover etc :pukel: ) mite not be the best looker  but I would have another in a heart beat, in some respects I prefer it to the Nav

I like the i 4x4 dial put it in auto and when if feels loss of traction turns it to 4x4 it didn't like pushing van backwards, well at nearl two tonne and braked you can imagine, lets just say it didn't smell very healthy reversing onto parcella (pitch  ).

Yep its only a pretend  4x4 but in truth I hardly if ever use 4x4 in the Nav,only when we had the snow, but couldn't live with the looks. It was abit twitchy in cross winds unlike the Nav, the soft leather and touch screen is very very nice, but their keyless start is **** :study: why bother with a turn switch, that when switching off you have to press a seperate button to complete the switch off  learn from Mazda push button all the way  , that said nice motor, however not that robust, I had a socket set in their underboot floor compartment, thats moved around the channels and scuffed the plastics up

mines the older style 06 plate, so doesnt have the fancy keyless etc, but as for the comment of a pretend 4x4, got to disagree, they are a very capable motor and will surprise you at what they are capable of getting through, I live in the middle of the yorkshire Moors up a private road which isnt cleared in the winter, and on standard tyres I only ever got stuck once in the last few winter we have had, and the time I got stuck so did a bloody great 4x4 tractor in the exact same spot,  granted they havent got a low box and could do with a bit more ground clearence, but on decent tyres they will get most places a Nav will get.

weak point is the clutch when reversing as I found to keep the outfit at a decent speed you had to ride the clutch all the time, as gearing is a bit too high.

could say im a fan of XT'S  and its been a dam site more reliable than the Nav

Glad you're having trouble free motoring on this years trip :sunny:
Never really liked the X-Fail but I'm impressed with those mpg's
Carry on having a good time and keep us posted :thumbright:

        :twisted:Here we go again  The wife has sent a couple of e-mails to Nissan GB on my behalf to find out whats going on with the Nav.

Received a response saying Nissan Tech working with dealership to sort my issue, but to assist them can I answer so questions, which went along the lines of level of fuel in vehicle, road conditions, speed, vehicle under load etc.

 For a start I turned up at dealership with a bloody 26' caravan hitched to it, relayed events to them, AND more importantly relayed the circumstances to the Nissan representative who sorted the X-Trail out AND WHO originated the flaming e-mail asking the questions that she already had the answers too

It's now well over a week since I left the UK and i'm none the wiser as to who, what or where the Nav is and what the intentions are. I bet they'll use the fuel up that I left in it, if it doesn't fail they'll say all ok grrrrrrr hate been in the dark but guess thats the price I've paid for taking the x-trail :pale:

Still impressed with the fuel returns, the reverse camera and the fold in mirrors - summat i'd of liked on the 07 Nav - a man of simple tastes or just plan simple lol.

Anyhow :cheers2: to all, here you've had decent weather, hot hot here lets say the b&c's are taking a real bashing (ladies drink I know but hey I like what I like ).

Chillax mate, have another B&C and say bollicks to it all :thumbleft:
Worry about it when you get back and anyways you've got their X-Fail now so they ain't gettin it back until they give you written confirmation it's fixed completely otherwise legal /compensation etc will proceed
Still very, very jealous of you being out there, it's the first time in the past 6 years I'm not down in Southern Spain for my 4-6 weeks break :( The eldest is in China on a school trip and the missus is with the younger two in Canada visiting her sister, so I'm 'home alone' for 3 weeks. I didn't go because I'd end up beating the cr&p outta the brother-in-law
I can always fly over, take over the looking after the kids so you can come home and worry about the truck if you want
:cheers2: Woz
