Anyone else had to have their 2010 pathfinder wheels replaced because of the paint flaking off? Had three wheels done so far, the fourth hasnt peeled yet! Its strange because its almost like the paint has split beneath the laquer but the laquer stays intact. No problems from Nissan under the warranty, dealer sent pics and repair agreed in a week. Also has anyone had to have their rear axle replaced? Yep, me again. The planetary gears in the rear axle were breaking down and needed replacing. 4 of the 5 vehicles my dealer had seen needed a new rear axle.

Are you sure it's the paint and not the wheels cracking? there's a massive recall on the wheels and Nissan are replacing the full set on recall

The dealer said they had checked for cracks and there were none but the paint had definitely peeled and the lacquer was still above the discolured metal. I saw the articles on the cracking wheels and thats what I thought I had. The dealer said he didnt know about that recall being applicable to pathfinders. Also interested about the guy who said he got new tyres when they changed his wheels too as Nissan didnt do that for me. Ive traded the pathfinder in now anyway, she goes on Monday and I will miss it but its been a real pain in the ****, I think the dealer has had it more often than me!

Thats a shame its going, the Pathy's are usually bloody brilliant. What are you getting to replace it with?

A Nissan Juke!! It wasnt easy but the wife likes the 4x4 looks in a smaller more economical car. Also ordered a Nissan NV400 crew cab as well for trips to the beach and lugging four kids and luggage up the line for holdays . Will deffo miss the pathfinder though!

I think its their new van, ya know like a Tranny! ( I think anyway)

Why TF A Puke?

I know, I know. But I think Jukes are going to be the new mopeds! They look s**t but are great fun to drive!! Should get more to the gallon than about three pathys and the van will take all the stuff the wife and kids like to cart around for their libes of luxury(as well as me!!) and Im quite tall but can still stand in the back to get in and out of a wetsuit and all the polava thats required post beach trip on a wet weekend in November! The pathfinder had just got impractical for the school run and round town and we were struggling to fit surfboards and all other associated niff naff for a day/weekend at the beach. We toyed with a volkswagen (as we are in cornwall and everyone else and their dog has one!!) but we couldnt afford the new mortgage a brand new one would cost once we had specced it up as well as the Nissan van. I hope it works for us, weve test driven both and theyre great just need to live with them for a bit to see!

Yeah, I didn't think the recall applied to Pathys :?:

Marc, I assume it was a per-facelift if you thought the wheels could be on a recall :?: , my Pathy's on a 61, but I will just check the wheels (if I can find them in the shed  ) :thumbleft:

When you say pre-facelift........its a 2010 model slightly longer and a bit more chiselled front grille than my 2006 one. It has the new usb and aux input in the armrest and postcode search on the satnav, it was sold to me as a faceloft model and the tax is only ÂŁ270 as the co2 is 224 gms. I thought it was a facelift model if Im honest!

If it was up to me the kids would learn to surf without the wetsuits but in todays namby pamby society I would be called a cruel father!! We only live three miles from south coast and eight miles from the north coast but walking down a single track cornish lane with four kids and three surfboards isnt my idea of a relaxing time! Thinking about it maybe I should increase the wifes life insurance......................
