hi all, thought i would register and say hello. hello. i am new to owning a 4x4. i have just purchased a 54 reg outlaw in silver with 80,000 on and it is tidy to say the least. there is the odd mark here and there and a big dint in the bonnet but apart from them bits it great. the truck has had the engine mods done as in the bottom end shells etc with paperwork to prove and old shells still in the glove box. is there anything else i need to be aware of or listen/look out for. will get some pictures up when i can. thats all for now. simon.

not much else to go wrong on the d22's. try to find out if the timing chain tensioner recall has been done.

Hi mate and :welcome aboard
With the mod done and on a Outlaw 54 plate the timing chain should be ok but check with your local Nissan Stealer :thumbleft:
Don't bother to phone Nissan UK as they don't keep records  :slaphead
Blank your EGR valve and make sure the rear LSD oil has been changed and that's about it other than regular servicing :sunny:
Niggles like the dash light bulbs and heater bulbs becoming dim are usual stuff but easy and a few quid to fix :thumbright:

thanks for the welcome guys. no plans as of yet as not sure what would be worth doing but heard about blanking off EGR valve. is this simple to do and easy to get to. does this spell trouble at mot time. got the truck for winter as a reliable get to work during any weather as last year i struggled in my 306 gti6.

EGR blank is really simple to do. i managed it and i have very little mechanical knowledge. Im sure if you do a search on here you'll find a how-to post that may even have pictures :)
