Hi all.

Just a quick question. Where can I get drain plug washers from? I'm looking for washers for the front and rear diff, transmission and transfer box drain plugs. Failing that does any one know what size they are? Tried several online companys and they are not interested saying they are pennies and not worth the effort. Dealer wanted over ÂŁ3 each for them and they never even had them in stock.

Any help would be apreciated. :?

Scott.

If you cant get them handy you can use a bit of ptfe tape either side of the washer, or as I do use a bit of sack thread.
Now that's what you call a true bodger, sort of like using matches instead of tile spacers or rawl plugs

Been doing it over 35 years and never had a leak yet.

If they're copper, Halfords sell them
Thats kind of what I was getting at but no one seems to know what size they are. And I cant take them out to check!

What has everyone else done when they have changed the oil? I know the easiest would be to just get them from the main dealer but thats a hundred mile round trip just for a few washers.

Cheers :thumbleft:

spot on PTFE or HEMP and some good jointing compound works a treat evan a tesco bag pulled out tight to form a string will do
