Hi All
As a new member and owner of an outlaw V6. I have purchased it as a work horse and to use as a general everyday car.
All is good except the very fidgety ride. I am going to put on the rear air suspension, has anybody fitted it and if so, does it settles the ride better.

Thank you in anticipation

Peter

Yup, there a tad firm but airbags will make it worse unless your planning towing a 5th wheel
I run mine with plenty fuel in an a bit of **** in the back, that improves the ride :cheers2:

Hi

I have airbag assisted suspension fitted to tow a 5th wheeler. Solo it does not improve the ride, but is fabulous for stabilising the ride when towing.

And yours is a V6. Lucky beggar.

Diggerman sugests these as do a lot of us... Monroe Adventurers or Bilsteins :thumbright:

+1 for Spirit.

My V6 runs better - smoother - with its bed loaded !!

Hi guys
Thanks for all your comments. Monroe don't make any for my year yet so may have to look at Bilsteins or the RS ones rob suggest if they make them for my year

Kind regards

Peter
I cant see the ones on the back being different from the 2.5 model, the front ones yes with the v6 engine.
it would be interesting to compare nissan shock part numbers for the 2.5 and the v6.

Hi All
Found a company ( up country 4x4)who can offer the Bilstein front shocks and also do a new uprated front spring by a company called up MAD i have shown the details below. has anybody had any of these fitted. Do you think the Bilsteins below would give me a better ride that the originals fitted

Road Ranger/Bilstein Front Gas Shocks B6
Sport for Nissan Navara D40 2005+ ---
Customer vehicle: Nissan Navara price ÂŁ124 exc vat each

The MAD front springs are around ÂŁ112 each exc vat

Kind Regards

Peter

More springs = harsher ride possibly? Do you need them?
Also they have a 2010+ category for the nav in product selection, this may not affect suspension though.
It doesnt mention the v6 though.
I would still compare nissan part numbers between the v6 and the 2.5.

Hi diggerman
I was thinking the same with the springs. So I think I will rule them out. The bilstein shocks are apparently 20% firmer than originals fitted. Bilstein e mailed me and said although stiffer it won't make for a harsher ride as its to do with their travel and action against the road surfaces.
I will e mail nissan and ask them about the difference between the 2.5 and v6 front shocks see what they say.
Still leaves me wondering what to do though. I have put some weight in back and it does make a difference. Still having said all that I am beginning to love this vehicle which my partner has now named the beast. Ha ha
