Have ordered a Tekna 2012 euro5, in slate grey, should have it early next week.

i now need to get a hard top, i have been looking on here and the internet all day.
I have had 2 Alpha GSE's in the past, i think these look pretty good but the rear door and windows seem a bit weak. With one, the window latch screws have partially pulled out the hardtop, on the other the door no longer latches properly.

Anyway, i digress... i have looked at Snugtop, Roadranger, SMM Samitr V4, Truckman ASX range, hardtopsuk XTC, etc and i come down to one of these 3:

1. Alpha GSE
2. Truckman GLS
3. Truckman Grand

See pics below if anyone has any comments about any of these.

i still think the Alpha looks as good th others. I prefer the coloured frame on the bottom of the rear door rather than the "all glass" look. However, they seem to be lagging in features, the Truckman's have a sliding bulkhead window and more importantly central locking. They are also a bit cheaper than the Alpha. However, i would really like to see more photos of the Truckman GLS on a Nav, especially in slate grey if poss. I can only really find one image online, as shown below.

Can anyone oblige with a few pics? :gotpics

Thanks Taylor, after seeing the pic you put up i'm now ruling the GLS.
i don't like the way it doesn't hug the back of the Cab. The Grand and Alpha have a constant gap from top to bottom which i much prefer.

Can anyone comment on the truckman grand build quality?

Any comments on the central locking which sounds like a good thing to me.
One query i have, does the door lock everytime you close it (as i believe snugtops do - although i may be wrong) or does it remain unlocked, (provided the truck is unlocked)?

Sorry to bump, I also have ordered the Tekna in slate grey and I'm having the devils own job finding any hard top in a matching colour. Was nearly made up on the Avenger XTC until I saw the roof rails on the Alpha.

Anyone have an opinion on the Avenger vs the Alpha?

Think the Alpha is a bit pricier, any ideas where to look?

Cheers

Thanks Taylor, how right you are, a new dress deserves new shoes! (so to speak)

Shame there not a showroom showing these off somewhere (is there?!). Quite taken by the way the roof bars match the cabs roof bars on the Alpha, but I suspect this is an extra. Anyone got any idea where the best place to go for an Alpha is, not sure I can handle much more googling.

Cheers

I bought my alpha gse from there last week.
They can fit for free. But they don't wire it up.
So I had mine delivered. And I'm hopeing I can get it on this weekend.:)
I went for the bulkhead sliding window . It's ÂŁ98 but it allows you to clean your
Back window. You wouldn't be able to get to this window to clean it without taking
The top off. So it's a must.

I didn't go for the roof bars. I thought it looked a bit much. I can always add them later on if I change my mind . Mine was ÂŁ1576 delivered that's with the sliding bulkhead window fitted to the top.
If you need anymore info give me a shout.

I reckon your could clean the gap between the two using one of those brushes they sell for cleaning the fins on the back of a home radiator. Having said that, a sliding bulkhead window would be good to increase airflow to the onboard pooch. With the Alpha GSE you only have the pop-out windows which are at the back, i suspect the circulation to the front is minimal. I used to have an Isuzu with an Alpha GTE hardtop which had a sunroof at the front. Unusually the sunroof opened with the gap to the front (opposite to most sunroofs) which forced air into the hardtop when driving, this was handy on real hot days.

Mines an Asx...
It's identical to the truckman grand.

Central locking linked to Navara, interior led light, led brake light, slim roof bars, rear spoiler, heated rear window, sliding front inner window, front hinged / rear opening one piece side windows. PVC inner roof lining.
Barely any water leak at all, been fitted about 4/5 yrs and no cracks anywhere. Colour match is pretty good and as close as any other I've seen.
Hada slight problem with rear lock, a little spring brakes but repaired with a pen spring a couple of times, don't think it's a general fault as nobody else has reported it, must just be mine lol.
Very happy with it, would deffo buy another.
Pics to follow or look on Taylor's thread.
