Hi' took car out today for a blast having had all the fluids changed.
The car goes like a rocket compaired to the van, but when you accellerate ( spelluin ) hard i get what sound like air leaking or sucking in, there is no loss of power but under hard accelleration ( spelluin ) it is quite loud.

Anyone know what this is ?
Also even after all the fluids done you need an arm like arnie's to shift into 4wd low or Hi' ??

apart from that it drives really well no nocks bangs and is quieter than my van.
I love it to bit's
The revamp start tommorow.

Pic's tomorrow..
Cheers in adavance BB

spirit, Jay.
I have never had an intercooled engine before and it is quite loud.
So is this normal? i have had turbo diesel's before and I know the whistle they make.

This is louder mor a whoooshh than a whistle.

Car runs great though.

Cheers BB

does your go into 4wd easily? i know the car stood for six months before I bought it.

Is there oil stains at both sides of the intercooler?

Goes in & out of 4wd ok but normal gears are sometimes tough.
BTW Bill, its a truck ok, not a car
Some guys on here have been worried by loud whooshing noises before & its turned out to be the turbo. Search under turbo noise, you may find something, a lot say it sometimes sounds like a gust of howling wind or a emergency siren.
I may well be wrong but hey, its all i can think of at the moment :thumbright:

It goes into gear smooth as.
No oil anywhere under the hood, ( hood instead of bonnet and it's a truck (

The problem I have is 4wd very stiff. :study:

Goes like stink though.

Looks Sh*te at the moment but I will transform.

Could have bought newer but didn't want all the engine prob's.

THE TRUCK seem's good apart from the noises?

Very loud whooshing not whistling.

Anyhoo I will keep driving till it breaks in 20026.

doe sit have a vacuum pipe from turbo to fuel pump?
If so this can be leaking.
Also could be exhaust manifold leaking, or even inlet mamifold leaking

Been busy today looking the TRUCK over.
I may be biteting off more than I can chew.
The tub is facooked holes everywhere once the plastic tub cover was removed.
The chassy is rusty as hell but solid. :clappy:
Wheel nuts are baked on.
I think the whole running train need replaced, ie all the steering assembly and front and rear suspension ( which I bugeted for and some parts have arrived) I need Foose from the American series Bling my truck.

i will keep at it though. :fingersx

I think it has been used on a Farm for shooting and carrying goats by the smell. :)

Mother passed away over the Xmas hol's so not much done with the truck.

even though it is old and rusty it started no problem during the cold spell and drove faultless in the snow ( may have summat to do with the chunky tyres).

I now have grown to love it. :fingersx
Chassis refurb next.
Then the new shocks fitted.
New front disc's and pads.
I'm a big bloke so I need to add a new steering wheel ( smaller ) as it has no adjustment. any ideas or size of the boss needed?
