I just think that the roads are full of sh*tty drivers, regardless of their sex. Every week i see more and more numpties aiming their vehicles all over the road. I'd say 75% of the idiots on our roads really haven't got a clue, at least in the u.k. anyway.

These are things i see everyday on the roads, and are my own pet hates:

1. People who stop at every roundabout, even when the road is clear?
Image

2. People who pull out in front of me, then proceed to drive at 10mph ?
Image

3. People turning right that don't move over to the centre of the road, so block everybody behind them ?
Image

4. People who can't judge the width of their vehicle, they go onto the other side of the road just to pass a parked car?
Image

5. People who drive at 10mph slower than the particular speed limit ?
Image

6. People that can't reverse properly ? (and there's a few of those)
Image

7. People that drive in the outside lane of a motorway at 55mph, or use the lane for cruising ?
Image

8. Tailgaters ?

To all of the drivers that do the above, do us all a favour, and stay the **** off the roads!

Btw, when the snow was bad, i was a couple of cars behind a bus, he was all over the place, no signals, sliding, almost caused a nasty prang. Eventually he stopped, i was going past him very slowly as the road was covered in ice, he then decides to pull out in bus driver fashion, almost taking out the side of my van.

Once i get in front of him, i stop and get out of my van, i'm so angry that i want to slap him, then to my amazement i see he's on the phone!!!, two or three passengers onboard too!.

He mutters sorry etc, and locks all the doors, and i didn't fancy getting nicked, so that was that, i should have reported him

Maybe i'd better add roadrage to my list?

and dont forget the twatts that go thro lights on red cos they took forever pulling away on green.cos they just aint ready and still stop at the junction and check left and right. :x .er indoors is pretty good wiv the nav she can park it on a tanner. not like me down a ditch

women drivers (and the elderly) are statistically "safer" for the simple reason that the stats are assembled as "accidents PER MILE", and these two categories do less miles than men, and drive slower.
When I was a tyre specialist I did about 55,000 miles per year for 10 years and never had an accident.
For example, if I did 50,000 miles per year for 10 years - total 500,000 miles. In that time I had 3 accidents. A woman driver (or an elderley person) did 6,000 miles per year for 10 years, total 60,000 miles, and has 2 accidents. Who is the safer driver?

(If this thread gets a bit ranty, I may move it to have a rant)

same here, but my wife is a great driver - confidant and sppedy. But again she does alot of miles and is used to it.
My neighbour, and his wife, are terrifyingly bad - they hardly drive at all and are very slow with appalling observation.
Indeed my neighnour managed to run into the back of a stationary school bus while it was dropping kids off! He wrote has Astra off cos it went all the way under the bus to the windscreen.
It was a lovely Summers day, and a straight road in a 30 limit. How did he do it??????
He was lucky none of the kids were hurt - the police were NOT impressed  :clown:

I'm guilty of that, my reason because "you" are the tw&t doing 10mph in front of me, drive 55mph in the overtaking lane, and obvious don't look in your rear view mirror...That and because I'm from Holland so it is culturally the norm. My pathetic excuse is that I stop doing it with large vehicles when people look in their rear view mirror and don't need 2 miles to over take a car.....I know I'm wrong (as the person in front of me) which doesn't make a right, but it does make me feel better for a moment....

Similar attitude in Sweden - if some one is going slowly you get up behind them and hang out a bit, and as soon as they see you they pull out of the way and you can get past. Different attitudes to driving.
Tailgating - in Northampton people drive for miles at 50 in the outside lane round the ring road cos in 4 miles they are going to turn right
Dunno why they cant stay in the inside lane until a few hundred yards from the junction, like they are supposed to
Think I'm gonna move this to have a rant!

Besides the fact that mine is oblivious to mechanical items (like the drivers seatbase being broken and loose  or a rattle from the engine bay which was the alternator bracket broken) and can't keep a steady speed she is pretty ok....

you wanna try driving in italy they really dont give a f***k. all the cars are dented but having said that they dont suffer with road rage like we seem to they just go along cutting every one up & pulling out on you without a care in the world

Once you adapt to the driving style that you can easily fit 5 lanes of cars in a road with only markings for two lanes (as they do in Rome) there is actually quite a lot of order in the chaos....

The scary bit, in the North, is that they've changed the little cars for massive 4x4's...Never see so many Q7, GL, Grand Cherokee, Patrol, XC90 etc as around Lake Garda...We go there about 3/4 times a year and the cars/wealth has been steadily growing...

I read somewhere the other day (so it must be true!) that while women have more accidents than men, the cost of the average claim is less, so they are deemed to be a lower risk.

Its a great comfort to me when I'm on my motorbike, knowing that their poor driving is tolerated and the risk to me is accepted by their insurance company  :x
