Hi all i am a newbie to this sort of thing but I just bought a 2010 nissan navara tekna face lift auto with 44000 on the clock it seems to have continuous loss of power and keep going into limp mode.I brought it to a mechanic who first got a code of P0102( MAF). He brought in a Tech guy who hooked it up on the computer and told him he did not believe it was the MAF but the intake and exhaust system needed to be cleaned. This was done and immediately after starting the vehicle it went into limp mode with a different code of P1275 which suggested fuel pump or fuel pressure sensor (based on post on this site).
It was then reconnected to the computer and the tech guy confirmed that it was the suction control valve on fuel pump. The SCV was later changed and computer and fuel pump re calibrated (as stated on this site). All codes were cleared and the vehicle taken for a test drive after 2 miles it went into limp mode without any check engine light But a code came up in the computer which is the same P0102. The MAF was replaced and 3 ground in the engine bay removed cleaned and replaced and the same thing occur after 2 miles limp mode All wires relating to the MAF was then checked and compared to work shop manual and found to be ok. But the vehicles is still going into limp mode with that code. Also noticed that in the mornings after starting it would idle rough for a while and if you attempt to move it would shut down and when restarted a puff of white smoke is seen. it has to idle for a couple of min. then then it can be driven. It seem to mostly go into limp mode when the rev falls below 1000RPM going at approximately 30MPH.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Had this recently, took it into main dealer and they told me they had just received new software to rectify the problem.
It took a couple of hours to download and now the truck is better than ever.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info but my problem is that when i bought the vehicle I imported it to Jamaica so its currently there i called the local nissan deater to see if i could bring it in and the exact words of the guy was that they dont service what they dont sell . At the same time i dont know if they have the facilities to do the ecu update. I am wondering if there is another way for me to have that done?

Go back to the dealer, ask for the "Dealer principle"
If he/she says their not interested.

Then bypass the dealer, contact Nissan directly, explaining the problem and the lack of any customer service from your local Nissan dealer.
Nissan will be able to force the dealer to give you support and look at your truck.
Let us know the outcome.

Thanks guys i will try that but the Navaras in jamaica are slightly different from the uk they carry the fuel filter and water separater separately and i dont believe they have the upgraded engine head as in the 2010 Teckna version. I am wondering if it would be possible to remove the ECU from the vehicle bring it to a UK Nissan dealer and have them update the software then replace the ECU in the vehicle.Or if nissan wont do that is there some where else in London that i can have the ECU updated with the software?

I am not sure if the vehicle is still under warranty if it is i dont think the Nissan dealer in Jamaica would be willing to honor that warranty.
Date of first registration in UK will tell you if it's still in warranty - however you need to start getting stuff in writing to local dealer and Nissan so you have a paper trail if you have to take it further.

I know dealers are 'iffy' where imports are concerned, but this isn't a fully blown Jap import :eekout Have you done the basics service, fuel filter etc??? You say the SCV has been changed are you sure no damage has been done to the rail??? Hate to say this but dealers here have been told if probs with rail they have to change pump and rail at same time :faint

Hope you get this sorted but by sound of it speed is important especially if you have some of your 3yr warranty left :dunno

Yes i did full service Oil, Oil Filter,Fuel filter,Air filter is new also and dosent seem to be the oil based one. I will contact the local dealer on monday again and try to speak to the service manager(Dealer principle) The way it is out here i am sure they wont want to honor the warranty if there is any left the first 4 digits on the uk plate is 0Y10. I am also wandering if the pressure sensor on the common rail could be the cause of this? Even though persons having the same problem on other post on this site has change the common rail without having success.

Hay guys seems like i am out of luck just checked the warranty booklet and it states that it is a Nissan Pan Europe Warranty and is valid in European countries where authorized nissan dealers are located. I am out of that zone unfortunately :pale:

Hi.

I had this problem with my Navara for 5 months. The dealer did firmware update on the ECU, changed the Suction Control Valve and tried numerous other things. It ended up being the Exhaust Temp Sensor putting my truck into limp mode. Maybe mention it to the dealer, so they can look into it.

Ok guys here the deal drove to approximately 125km to the dealer today the truck went into limp mode 3 times during the trip. I spent the whole day there while they were trying to find the problem after trying different things and taking several test drive it was discovered that the boost pressure sensor was causing the problem. Air starvation causing the MAF to be triggering the limp mode.At least thats what the guy said.It was changed drove back home NO LIMP MODE :partycheer: I only hope thats it for me and this limp mode saga. :clappy:

:clap :clap Glad it was a successful :fingersx trip for you and well done that stealer for sorting it - hope you have smiles of fun with it :thumbright:

And thanks for feeding back may help somebody else in future - not get pics up of your truck
