After getting thoroughly peed/off with the injector rattle I took of the DTE tuning box and the CRD box then bought 4cans of BG244 and 5 litres of non synthetic 2 stoke oil.
did 2 80 litres fills with a can of bg244 and 400ml of 2 stroke oil in each. no change
next tank put in two bg244 and 400ml of two stroke... no change
next tank no bg244 just 400ml of 2 stroke and after 100 miles or so I noticed it had gone quiet!!
and averaging 29 mpg

after 200 miles and it still quiet I put the DTE in standard settings back on and so far no rattles and still getting 29mpg

Hoping that now its cleared the 2 stroke will keep everything smooth.
Heres hoping.

I use both at times, the bg244 removes/cleanes all the ****, then the mineral 2stroke lubricates.
Try using shell/Bp fuel too.

I think a few try it and expect an immediate result, it doesn't work like that :dunno
Takes a few tanks to get it right :awesomework

doesnt it smoke with the 2 stroke oil in?
my d22 has noisey injectors but thought that was a normal diesel thing as its my first diesel vehicle,

No mate, or at least it shouldn't
2stroke oil, if ya think about it its there to lubricate the upper cylinder area of a 2stroke engine.
No oil feed as such like a four stroke. 2 stroke engine works differently, So it lubricates where there is no oil and then burns :D
Very simple explanation before you motorbike guys whip me :)

A lot of folk use it, but do it at your own risk...
Will that do as a claim waver Mr T ?

The two stroke oil shouldn't do any harm in the right quantities because it or something similar used to be in the fuels at the pumps before all the emission thing started. I think lots of additives had to be removed and engines mapped accordingly to meet the requirements.

Tbh though, i wouldn't advise anybody with a truck that's still in warranty to do this, as in the event of an issue, i think they'd be up that famous creek without a much needed paddle?

The pumps on these modern vehicles are quite sensitive to certain stuff, that's why bio isn't recommended with these engines, although i'd say the 2 stroke would aid in lubing the pump?

Anyway, let's be careful out there :thumbright:

I know that the dealer where i brought my old a-class put around half a liter of two-stroke-oil in the tank of every commonrail diesel that came in for service. Reason beeing the fuel isn't lubricating the delicate parts enough these days. Not that much of a secret, if you don't lube enogh it's gonna hurt
Did it myself quite some time because the injectors of an old a-class are rubbish and like everything like that bloody expensive. Made the engine MUCH quieter, sounded almost civilized
As long as it's two stroke oil that burns without leaving ash behind there's not much you can do wrong with it.
