Hi
Have just fitted a Halfords Ripspeed DVD/ CD player to my D22. Although cheap it does what I want it to do, and if it does decide to play up it can go straight back to my local store and not have the expense of sending to China ! I have one small problem the fitting was a doodle other than the handbrake light stays on ( half brightness ) when handbrake off and normal brightness when on. I ran the pink wire to the handbrake switch and it performs how it should, no viewing while handbrake off. Any ideas would be much appreciated as I am no auto electrician. Cheers

 is it a good connection to the handbrake wire also make sure your earth connections are very clean good metal to metal contact
just a thought :study:

Thanks for the reply, will have a look tomorrow. I was so pleased with myself that it had all gone so easy I didn't notice the light on, no big drama just have to remove the armrest/ counsel.
Cheers

TBH I ran the pink to earth  because I've also got two rear headrest monitors in the rear that can share the same DVD or each of the 3 screens can watch separate Dvd's, play games, plug in their ipods, phones etc
I also read elsewhere Nissan often, despite having a earth wire in the connector, run it to nowhere  causing earth problems, so I ran an extra earth wire from the plug to the metal dash mounting bracket to make sure :thumbright:

good point woz when my head unit was fitted the guy was struggling so he ran an extra earth wire to the metal case around the head unit

I ran mine to earth also. For the same reason dvd on the move

I agree with the comments on the earth issues...
I served my time at a Nissan main dealer many moons ago, we used to fit dealer upgrade cd players to Primeras, Almeras and Nav's... we always added an extra earth to a mounting point on the frame as the loom earth is very poor!
Add an extra earth and it will improve massively, but I would also link the handbrake switch wire directly to earth anyway...if you want to keep within the law then leave the screen closed when driving!
