so guys, im thinking about fitting 4 lights to the hood of my nav, anyone got any ideas whats a good brand to use ? something nice and bright :D but not too big tho, because im thinkin about doin a 4 inch lift, so .... lol ... so give me some ideas... oh btw, ill be using a carry boy roof rack on the hood so the lights will be attached to them ...

4" lift and a carry box, how are you going to get in it? :D

Right got it now .... By hood you mean roof? As the yanks call a bonnet the hood....
IMO some of the led light bars are the way forward, small ish, neat and bright...

What do you want to use them for?

Why does the size of the light depend on the height of the lift?

Im running PIAA SMR 520's with a 3" lift, soon to be 5", and i love them. Although i will probably be putting HID kits into them if theres room.

The problem with any roof lights is the reflection off the bonnet, back into the cabin, causing glare and reducing visibility. I still have this problem to tackle. The way i used to do it with my offroaders was to paint the bonnet matt black, not really an option on a nice nav! The other option is to sit the lights further back on the roof, so the beam angle doesnt hit the bonnet, but again not an option if you are set on having them above the windscreen like i was. So the next solution is to make little glare guards to sit under the light, like this;

This is my next job.

As Carts says, the new LED light bars are very good, i've got a pair of small ones to fit as reversing lights and am planning on putting a 33" 180w one in the bumper mouth, plus sticking one of them on your roof would be a lot easier to make a glare guard for.

This is how X-mods over on club frontier mounted his;

OMG im inlove with your nav! thats beeeeeautiful!!!

height because i still wanna keep some decent height, if i go to high then i cant go to the mall because of the dum barriers,
and Mr carts, yes i mean the roof, lol , im thinking about 4 of those KC lights in the middle, facing foward, and 2 in the back , need em bright, for work and for back road driving lol and camping with the family :D

Lol so ok we now on the same page over the roof... :confetti

Yes KC's are great... And if you get the sealed beams 150watt the range is crazy, 4 mile reflective.... :dance:

Did think of KC's for the rear but now I have the 32inch led facing back no need...
