Hi people, not been on here in a while.........mainly as the old D22 has been behaving itself lol.........well until today! :faint

So.......the scenario......from cold all is well, engine warms up all seems well except when I come to a stop at junction, the rpm are higher at idle by about 500 rpm.....after several seconds (15 ish) the rpm start to come down slowly back to the normal tick over of bout 850rpm. On a couple of occasions blipping the throttle pedal brought th erevs ack down, some times it made no difference and they came back down after 15 - 20 seconds or so........ :dunno

Its only done this since the hot weather of the last few days.......coming home tonight in cooler weather its fine again........any ideas?????

Thanks in advance, BP :faint

did you have the air con turned on if so its the compressor making the engine run at higher rpm to run the air con its normal

more tea anybody   :eekout

If not air-con, try resetting the throttle.
Start the engine, do NOT touch anything else, just let it idle on it's own for 10-15 minutes.
They do sometimes have a habit of losing this setting.

its not air con......I know about that one.....

Today, its normal until engine reaches normal operating temp......then higher than normal tick over......but today its increasing rather than reducing whilst siting idle!!!!

well i tried the suggestion of starting her up.......touching nothing.....and leaving it for 15 mins on idle. I did this about 2 hrs prior to coming home tonight and hey presto......so far so good!

Will see what happens tomorrow

hopefully job done then and all sorted :D
