D22 Suspension

hey im new to all this and just picked up my 04 d22 rally raid on saturday, What i want to know is if i do a 2" suspension lift will it raise the actual hight of the navara?

Also i am looking at getting new suspension prob be 2" bigger, what do people recommend using and the price they are?

Yes it will lift the vehicle 2" bassicly it will lift the whole vehice bar the rear axel.

Plenty out there, just have a look on the web.

You can lift them with out a kit though, the fron torsion bars are adjustable, and can be lifted 2 " inches, for the rears you can add a spacer block or get extended shackels made up, this will keep money in your poket for tyres!

forget blocks or shackles. D22's suffer from weak rear springs so you either replace the whole spring pack or get an extra leaf added. that way you end up with stronger springs, better spring rate (a far better ride) and a 2" lift.

so what your saying is to get 2" longer shocks and get uprated rear leaf springs that are 2 inch higher as well, and to stay clear of lifting the body on the spacer blocks?

you don't need to get 2" longer shocks. we are still useing stock ones untill they die.

unless your fitting really big tires or fitting something bigger under the bonnet you don't need to do a body lift.
suspension lift comes first.

depends on the kit.

can be a simple as 2x leafs or springs packs, torsion bars, bushes and shocks. they vary a lot.

Blocks/shackels was the cheap option, yes you would be better with replacement springs at the rear, the rest you can use whats on there. You can replace the torsion bars but they are all heavy duty replacements and I can tell you this makes for a rough ride if you are keeping the standard bumper.

I have the full kit, tough Torrsion bars, 2"+ rear leafs and shocks all round, but with no load and before i had a winch bumper the ride was harsh.

does the winch bumper help coz its extra weight over the front end to help with the stiffness of the suspension?

It sounds more like you want a complete kit?

I'm looking at taking mine from the South of England all the way to South Africa next year.
For that I'm upgrading all the suspension as there will be a fair amount of off-roading.

There will also be added weight on the front from the winch.
So I found a company in AUS that does a complete kit all round with 5" lift. Bit extreame for uk use but has everything you would need. Plus good reviews from the Aussie boys. Not bad value for £950

Just remember if you do change the front that you may need to get longer brake lines and a few other bits.

ive wound up the torsions at the front for a 2 inch lift, and at the back i got replacement springs but retained a leaf from the old ones. the extended shackles ar from tarantula and are for lifting a series 111 landrover. i had to get some sleeves made up to go in the bushes but the whole lift, 2" front and 3" rear cost £140 and about 4 hours of my own time. Ive upgraded the front shocks to XGS units fron TJM but that is only due to one of the standard ones bursting (pre lift)

yes it does but a decent tyre place should be able to do a 3d check an restore factory settings, 10 min job
