Just a thought as I believe my SCV is misbehaving (hunting idle, stalling until warmed up, limp mode 3 times in last 6 months). Having performed all the other clean ups and resets I'm now looking into purchasing a new part (Euro 3 A6860-AW42B I think..)

so, just wondering if anyone here has tried cleaning the SCV as that would save me a months beer money!

Cheers all!

I've never done it myself, whether it was done as part of the service I don't know. BTW whats a SCV?

Andy

I have never heard of anyone stripping and cleaning it.

If you go ahead, take some photographs for a 'How-to'. Be aware that the fuel pressure in the pump and rail is anything between 4,000 and 20,000 PSI

Be careful and good luck :fingersx

It's the Suction Control Valve that bolts on to the fuel pump.

Not sure about stripping it, more soaking it in carb cleaner or similar. The reason for my post is because my fuel filter was so full of **** that I wonder if some sludge made it's way into the valve. If I can give it a soak and get the crud out then I'll be saving ÂŁÂŁÂŁ's. If it don't work then I've lost nothing for trying!

Also I'm hoping that removing the valve, as described here viewtopic.php?f=15&t=25685 won't interfere with the pressures in the rail you mention since nobody mentions this when changing their SCV!

Thanks for the input guys, will keep ya updated!

The SCV is usually failing electronically and not by dirt or deposit build up, so I don't think you can cleaning it, but let us know if you had any luck :)

can't comment...but I would like to hear which SCV with the right Part# you will put on your pump.
euro3 does differ from euro4

anybody know, which partnumber goes on the euro3 / euro4
My research suggests that it depends on the part number of the pump! When I pull my SCV I'll make a note of anything stamped on it and replace like for like if cleaning doesn't solve my problems.

BTW, the part number I posted at the start of this thread (A6860-AW42B) I believe is a Nissan part number, while Denso may have differing part numbers, e.g, 'Diesel Jones' have the Denso SCV for my vehicle with Code: 294009-0120. From what I tell they differ in length. I've also read somewhere that DJ sell them with a blue cap instead of grey.

Confused, yes.

:eyeroll

the easiest way is the replace like for like, but I can't just leave the Pick-up
sitting for 3 or more weeks when ordering the parts.

let me know which part number you replace it with, cuz I think euro3 should have the same part #

cheers

Nissan parts numbers are: A6860 AW42B for Euro3 and A6860 EC09A for Euro4 (the Euro 3 SCV is double size in length).
