Hi All,
I'm looking at fitting some different seats into my D22 4door.
The rears will be ok as is, but the fronts... Well...... how can I put it.
I will explain.
My Girlfriend is 5ft 2 and loves the D22, but could do with a seat that rises and something with Lumbar Support.
As you may have guessed, she drives VW Passat estate which has both of the requirements.
Has anyone undertaken the challenge, and if so, what seats did you use and year car did they come out of.
What subs or modifications to the sub-frames did you do?
I'm looking forward to starting something with this thread.
Although.... It may have been asked, but the search function brings up valve seats as well as anything else not relevant.
Cheers All.

Yeah... I saw that, but it only references bucket seats and looking at the sub-frames, they don't have the ability to rise and drop.
Thanks though!

Bit of a thread resurrection, but has anyone managed to fit any other seats into the front of a D22? (other than the bucket seats mentioned). I've spent a couple of hours searching the forum but can't see posts from anyone else who has successfully fitted alternatives.

I'm desperate to replace mine for a pair with decent lumbar support as I do a lot of miles and I'm getting to the stage where I'm trying to avoid using the Navara wherever I can because I feel crippled when I get out :?

I'm going to start visiting breakers yards and measuring up some possibilities, but it would be great to know if anyone has tried any... even if they didn't work, it would help to narrow down my search.

Cheers,

Dave

you can get d40 seats in if you want, you just need to reposition the brackets in the floor a bit. australian members say its easy to do. i havent done it so i dont know.

Thanks, that's interesting. I was under the impression that the D40 seats were wider and although could be fitted, it would mean removing the centre console. Has anyone got any experience of this?

Cheers,

Oh wow, well remembered that man. Not only did he do the seats. Glad I read far enough to see about changing the belt buckle, but I also saw the bit about changing the Ariel. Another job on my todo list. I broke mine a year ago, but at the same time I really should change the stereo and get one with a hands free Bluetooth connection for my phone. Well more Like a round tuit to be honest.
Did I mention bigger rims so I can put bigger circumference tyres on so that the speedo isn't 10 per cent out anymore..... Err, might be going off topic some what.
