Just looking for some new tyres 265/70/16 for the rear to replace the GG AT2 but on the front ive got GG AT and I like the look of them and think they would give better grip on the road than the AT2s and better fuel economy but on looking at some sites I came across these and the efficiency rating.. I got a shock as they are as bad on fuel as bad can be !! They look like a very tame tyre if you ask me !!

(This was a link but failed) :( but the fuel efficiency was `G` which is the worst one and wet roads are `F`!!
I thought they looked ideal but how wrong I was :****

Just out of interest what tyres are people using and how do they find them on different surfaces and conditions. To be fair mine will see mostly road and hopefully plenty of snow (my fingers are crossed) :thumbright:

I bought the bfg at tyre for the wifes freelander as the wet grip rating was good and the grip in snow is great.
Economy has not been affected very much, getting between 36 - 39 mainly local runs and offroad too.

That's really put the cat among the pigeons !! I might still consider them then unless someone can come up with some super dooper tyres that are gnarley, grippy and very fuel efficient :)

I have Nexan MT on mine, well & totally beefy, been on 4 years & absolutley no wear, have covered aprox 15-20k with them, great grip in snow, ice & field, well above average in wet, cost ÂŁ300 for 4 fitted. Jobs a good un, beat that. :thumbright:

Had a look at the duratrac and they seem a bit aggressive and like they might be a handful on the road in the wet but does seem to get good reviews on them. Has anyone on here tried them yet and whats the best price you have found them ?

Not very popular over here, the only guys i have seen run them are on the Devon4x4 forum. However I belive these tyres outsell the BFG AT's in the states. They are classed as an agressive all terrain, yes outperform a lot of AT's amd MT's combined according to the devon4x4 guys. I have also never found a bad review of their wet weather performance. Availability is difficult, goodyear are struggling to make enough, i was told it would be March before i could get them in 285/75R16. I ended up finding them from Germany with free shipping.
