Just wondering when we get floods etc, How deep I can go without drowning the engine ?
Ive not got a snorkel on it !!
How deep has anyone been through a puddle / beck etc without any problems ?
With or without a snorkel ?

I've been about 3" below the top of the tyres, never had and probs. still shat myself though.

don't forget air vents behind rear seats at **** level so the truck will keep going but water will come into the cab

Well spotted !! I never knew about them so would of been caught out ! Cheers for keeping me dry :thumbright:
So about to top of the wheels might be the limit then unless I have a stroll with the silicon gun :really

Ive been in to just under the top of the bull bar, no probs. THe idea is though not to get water through the front air vent & KEEP IT RUNNING, go slow as to not make a wave & you should be ok, besides, i dont think for one minute where we are we'll get badly flooded :thumbright:

I'd be more worried about the axle breather than the vents. It's lower and you'll not know waters in there until it wrecks it.

I've been just below the rear lights before. Snorkle on and diff breathers extended up. Kept a decent bow wave and i was fine. My main concern too was the rear vents letting water in, as i have ÂŁ1200 of amplifiers underneath them, but they were fine. I do want to seal them up a bit though, maybe just keep the top row open. That will give me an extra 4 or 5".

Think my manual says 450mm wading depth..but I have been up to the door bottoms. My transmission breathers are close to air filter so wouldn't risk going much deeper without extending them and adding snorkel

I took mine through a small puddle the other day...... :****

I was gonna go for a drive up beck meetings and Ridge lane  but I do like to go and have a drive and see where floods are when the bad rain comes.
Is there a way of lifting the Axle breather ? or is it just a case of adding a bit of rubber pipe ?

I used push in air fittings for the d40, just unscrewed the old breather, screwed in the new push in air fitting, than ran the tube up behind the rear light. I would imagine you can do something very similar on the D22?
