Hi Everyone,

My Name isn't Nigel. That is the name of my Navara I bought last Wednesday. I picked up an Adventura with all the toys as a pick up to use with the dogs, horses, winter, towing etc etc.

After looking at all the makes and models available we went for the Nivara due to spec, price, size and power. The only thing putting me off was reliability. I decided there must be 1000's out there all running fine and that due to the large savings over the other trucks I was looking at I bought the Navara and had some cash left over which could be used to give it a good check over and service to give peace of mind.

I didn't even get that far as a fault light came on trhe day after I bought it. PMSL! Anyway its getting sorted as I type and I will let you know what the issues were when I know.
I have just ordered a EGR blanking plate so will get this fitted soon. :rockon
I am betting that it was the EGR valve that has caused the fault light too. I have read the forum and know how to get the cosed and have a reader myself but I am now away working so the wife is getting it looked at by our mechanic. :dunno

Other than the usual spec he has a Snugtop back and Spray Liner.
Here are a few photos of Nigel:

Private plate is getting changed so dont mind showing it on here. :really
Not the best interior colour in the world but it looks fine in the dark!

Cheers for the replies guys. Just read my intro back to myself so sorry for the odd typo!

I also forgot to mention the sh*tflicker but I think it looks cool and if it does its job should save on some chips etc.

Always liked the look of the window guard things but never bothered on other cars as I always though it was only smokers that would ever have the windows cracked open in **** weather and I would never need them.

Anyway the mrs said it can be picked up this evening. Only news I have so far is that it couldn't be picked up until the evening as it needed an exhaust bracket. Sounds like not much wrong with it so I will find out what the fault light was soon. It's now had a major service so other than the possibility of the cam chain snapping any second it should be good for a while.

Only gripe so far is the cheap mud tyres it has on are the loudest things I have ever heard! Made me worry it was the wheel bearings but it gets quieter the faster you go and sounds like the rumble of off road tyres to me.

Now I just have to try and stop myself from changing the exhaust, remapping, adding a sub and other gadgets! I'm meant to be saving money for moving house but I just can't help myself!

Also want to update the sat nav as there are some new roads round my way that aren't on the 2007 maps. I have seen them for sale but also heard you can get them for free if you know where to look and how to write the DVD. A pm from someone would be just lovely! Lol

The fault was.....

EGR valve!
Garage said they can order a new one as it's likey to keep coming back but a quick search brings them up at over ÂŁ500 new! For something that gets blanked off to make it run better! Lol

Any other options to stop the fault coming back? Clean it out, check it over, put it all back together and fit a blanking plate?
