been looking for an hour now on the net and the bulbs are sold buy the shed load.
but not one stands out as being half way decent
want more in blue, the ones i have are OK but could be sharper brighter

this is what i have fitted in blue led its ok but :?:
want better
any pointers also tried looking for the cree type

sorry guys this has been done to death :faint but how hard can it be to find the bulb that ticks all the boxes

its the one thing that lets the d22 down is the dashboard lighting very poor
 
You can get nice pink ones on ebay too :**** :****

Paul,
The bulb in the picture you have posted looks like it is a focused type LED.
If this is the case the light from it will be much like a torch beam, concentrated in one spot.
You need SMD (surface mounted diode) type LED's these look quite a bit different, and when on spread their light output through 180 degress lighting up a larger area.

SMD's give a 'flood' of light over a wider area and look like this

well I've measured the bulb i have against the size on the web and its spot on so worth a punt :fingersx

just done the measurements on the metal contacts.
and see your point the bulb i have the gap is 3mm
on the ones i have ordered the gap is 6mm .

still worth a go as not big money and some small long nose pliers and some bending should see me home.
will keep you updated

I think youll struggle with them mr fish.
I had the same, and gave up. it will end In a bad bodge.
and plenty of ffffing and jeffing
