steering wheel controls

Just a quick one thats probably been asked before. But I can find owt at the moment.

The steering wheel controls on my D40 are badly worn and look awful
So was thinking of having them refinished
But cant figure out how they come off.
Anyone give me a clue lol

Readimg through it sounds abit iffy removing the air bag

Hi mate, when I did mine I got some precut stick replacements off of eBay for about £15. It looked pretty good once I had put them on and it saved taking the airbag out. Just type in the eBay search bar "navara steering wheel control covers" they come up.

I've just bought some of those transfers from eBay as well. Look alright, but I am going to take the airbag off and rub those plastic bits right down with some fine wet and dry. They look to be covered in something similar (to the eBay things) with an adhesive backing, so certainly on mine I'd be reluctant to stick them straight over the top! I'll upload a picture here of the transfer (not yet fitted) if anyone's interested what they would be getting?

On mine its the silver part thats peeling but I found a guy that does hydro dipping so need to strip the buttons out
depending on the finish i'm gonna do the full centre console

Cant remember for the life of me, ive been 'searching' but 'Lookskyward' put up a link to the transfers a couple of weeks back. I sent Adam ''diggahole'' some carbon fibre & he covered his in that, it looked really professional.

I dont have that problem as i dont have steering wheel controls, just a full leather wheel that serves its job :D

I was considering that, but all of the control designations are on the plastic.
