I have a new 3.0d Outlaw, question is, when I turn ignition on, the needles swing down and to a tick tick tick motion before swinging back up to the place they should rest. Also, when I turn the car off, the rev counter sticks at 900rmp with the engine off, and only drops back when the key is turned again?

I have a video but cant post it.

Mine does exactly the same, another quirk I've found is when the hazard warning lights are on but the key is removed there is no tik tik noise and the indicators on the dash don't flash, but the indicators still work, that caught me out on Tuesday I was in Central London parked on a single yellow to deliver some curtain poles for a customer, jumped in the truck to go and park up ( ÂŁ80.50 for a days parking) and thought bugger I thought I'd put the hazards on when I put the key in to start it tik tik noise and flashing indicators are back

Thank you, that's a help as the Nissan guy just looked at me like............ 'who gives a f..... what they do' kind of way. Mines in Monday as the sunroof opens and closes it's self and the air vent selection button not working so I'll get the dials checked at the same time.

Thanks for the response.

Almost sounds like the dash doesn't have a permanent live feed to it as when you power them up for the first time they do a similar thing does anything stay powered on the dash when the ignitions off IIRC the mileage should stay on for a bit
Might be worth checking out or it might be a feature of the 3.0
