ÂŁ15 Aluminium plate picked up from the scrapers to make the skids.

I also made some smaller plates to protect the corners of the radiator as they are exposed due to top skid funneling in towards the bottom of the car.

Cut 3 hold in the top skid for radiator ventilation (I also thought it would look cool) and then used silicone to stick down a bit of black grill.

I had to bend the bottom skid to make it seat properly. i tried warming it but it went a funny colour and would not bend along a straight line so grinded 3 lines in the back of the plate to create a weak spot.

nice work rob it looks really good but what does the bumper weigh ,i understand it has to be strong but if its too heavy wont the front end either bounce all over or be very hard on the bumps,i know your fitting better front suspension but just wondered

thanks lads, I don't know how heavy the bumper is but to be honest its a lump. It definitely will make the truck sit a bit lower so might reduce coil bucket contact with the standard coils and spacers. It probably will be harder on bumps till i eventually upgrade the suspension.

The radflo titan swap is available with 4 different springs rates 500 600 650 and 700. 500-600 is for a standard navara, 600-650 is for a heavy bumper, 650-700 is for a winch and heavy bumper. I originally was going for the 600s but now i think i need the 650s. I contacted greg on this matter but standardly got no response. :throw

They look really really nice, thanks for the link!

Am glad Gregs been hard work lately because if he had sold me the other rads last week I would have been annoyed. I think am going to try purchase the newer design instead. Also they only come with a 650 spring for the 4wd, win! :partycheer:

All we need to do now is figure out a way to get Greg to wanna sell us them.

Carnt buy from the website because am not paying full price. Greg actually picked up the phone last night and said he would send through a PayPal request :fingersx

So I think I have actually managed to get the ball rolling. :dj1

It's nuts tho, everyone's heard of trying hard to make a sale, why should you have to try hard to make a purchase. I appreciate his discount but it's been hard work to get to this stage.

I asked Greg about the difference between the two Radflos, he said they offer the same amount of travel, the reservoirs are just for show and cooling.

Also the bumpers going to be a slow build. i ordered another light bar for it with a description saying next day delivery but it turns out it has to be made and shipped from Australia first, so 2 weeks till its in the country. Then next day delivery, then i can get it painted.

hope he didn't make any mistakes writing down your e-mail otherwise you may wait a while for the paypal request :cry :faint
so did you take the radflos with the resi's or without?
it's funny by mail he told me the SAW's were getting an extra 1" travel over the radflos and then there is the new radflos exactly like the SAw's but same travel as the old radflos :2far
hummm confusing

his exact words were its neither here nor there. There still going to be a beastly shock even if they are an inch less than the saws. I decided to go for the newer design, there a nicer shock. it will also be fun to play around with the increased lift. Am not getting too excited yet, I can still see the delivery dragging out for a few months. :faint

Hi rob,

Also just giving you the heads up that the frontier spindle as a smaller daimeter lower ball joint set up....
the local nissan dealer brought in a few calmini kits and the extended spindle had a smaller lower ball joint receiver!
they had to drill the spindle a size bigger to fit on the thai navara LCA :dunno
just given you the heads up in case it's the same for the spain built navara's .... :eyeroll

I capped the ends with some more sheet steel. Then sanded the weld down to give a smooth finish. I then rubbed over the whole bumper with some emery cloth to shine it up so you could see the dents in the light.

I picked up some metal filler from screw fix to remove the dints made by the rollers on our pipe bender.

How is this going to be with the airbag ??? I assume the weight bouncing around won't set it off. BUT in the event of (God forbid) an accident will your airbag fire with this level of armouring up

That's a good question. i never even considered that as a problem. i have no idea how air bags detect am impact and fire so ?
At a complete guess, would they not work of a sensor on rate of deceleration? therefore should work as normal?
anyone else know?
