Just got this from Nissan intranet..

We are sad to announce that the Nissan Patrol has reached the end of its lifecycle and production and sales of the model have now ceased. All remaining stock has now been sold.

From its conception in 1951 and evolving over 6 generations, Patrol has become a global 4x4 legend and has been officially on sale here since the early 1980s.

We can confirm there will be no direct replacement model available in the UK & Europe in the near future. Concerned customers may still be able to find a suitable alternative within the Nissan 4x4 range, particularly Pathfinder and Navara - please assess the customer requirements and make them aware of the strong capabilities within the current 4x4 range.

We trust this bulletin has informed you sufficiently. Please get in touch via the contact details below should you have any questions.

Regards

Shame to hear that the old 'Flagship' has gone

Had Patrol SVE 3 ltr turbo auto for 3 years. Got rid of it last year and miss it.
Only car I've driven to Southern Spain and got out feeling I could turn the car straight round and do it all again

Great vehicle and great off road too :salute:

Real shame we were hoping for a quiet common rail diesel v8 version. I had a 51 reg automatic se+ (same as the later sve, aventura and tekna's) drove it from new to 55k miles and only lost 6k come trade in for the Murano.

Except for engine noise we loved that car. The current amazon is fugly.

Ah well they still have the navara and pathfinders.

Funny how we are all different...The main reason we got rid of the Patrol was because of the old fashioned loud diesel sound...Mind you I always got admiring looks from the blue rinse brigade :flower: until they saw it was not the number 9 bus bus a noisy 4x4 that sounds like a ropey bus instead....No they should have gone common rail the moment they bought renault....

Is this for real? I can't find anything to substantiate it via google. I see it comes from the Nissan intranet. Will this become official soon?

It seems very strange when Patrols are so popular. I see them everywhere in my part of the world. Landcruisers have gotten too expensive. I gues they're selling more Navaras and Pathfinders!

Well Andy works for Nissan, so i gess all Nissan employees will now know by now, oh and us lot on here thanks to Andy.... :thumbright:

I think you've hit the nail on the head there - they put big petrol engines in Pathfinders for US market and places like that, so there is no place for Patrol anymore

I hope its wrong too but I have heard it on other forums too

There are some 'new rules' that mean Patrols and Deffenders will not meet safty regs so lickly hood is there production will be stoped.

So looks there will fewer and fewer live axel 4x4s left
