Thanks both for responses.
The truck is a 2007 adventure auto on 68000 miles, not sure of the euro classification.

The codes scroll as follows (10 flashes) followed by 4:7:1:1:4:7:2 followed by (10 flashes)

This scrolls repeatedly I've videoed it with my phone and checked it a few times.

Ok looking on this site I see that 10 flashes = 0

Not sure of the sequence, I think that the 10 flashes are slowest so might be the start, in which case we have

0471, 1472, but it could also be

4711 and 4720
Or
7114 and 7204
Or
1147 and 2047
Or
1472 and 0471

10 flashes is 0
So your truck has the following DTC; P0471 and P1472
The first one is DIFFERENTIAL EXHAUST PRESSURE SENSOR and you already know what the second code is.
Both sensors are located at the same area so this is a wiring loom issue probably or the mutual connector F55.

As you say those two gismo's are sitting next to each other in the engine bay, wires seem to disappear into the bulkhead, any idea where that F55 connector is located?

Not sure if this is relevant I tried to trace the wires from the engine compartment temperature sensor which are grey and red. Inside the fuse box there was a white connector with a red and grey wire cut, there is also what looks like a taped connection. The pin in the white connector was bent and wouldn't have been making contact. Are they all like this?? LOL.

The only people to ever work on this vehicle are the main stealers doing routine servicing and trying to trace this fault (without success)

Is there a wiring diagram available?

My truck is a 07 Euro4 manual.

This is a picture I took of the above connector,

You will see that the grey and red wires are not present at all. The yellow tape seems to be a joint where a few wires are spliced into a heavy brown wire. I opened up the connector and note that there was only two pins to the front, yours appears t have three pins here (one bent).

I had great difficulty reconnecting the connector and had to gently wriggle it into place. I suspect you may have found the cause of your problems. See if you can align the bent pin back to its correct position, although it is not connected to anything it may be causing poor contacts on the remaining pins. :fingersx

Right,

I've had a trawl through the manual. That socket is E10 in the Engine Room Harness. The plug is F5 on the Engine Control Harness. They are earthed via the E21 connection to the inner wing behind the ECU. The circuits fed by this connector, are,

Wait detection switch via F39
ATP switch via F41
Neutral-4LO switch via F42
Transfer control device (actuator position switch) via F47

So it is doubtful if this is the culprit.

I cannot see reference to the F55 connector but I'll keep hunting. :dunno

The white 20 pins connector you found with a bent pin.
That's great but why have I identified that as E10 and F5 on my manual, has the wiring diagram changed or have I misread it completely?

I may have answered my own question.

My copy of the manual was written in 2005, there is no mention of these sensors which I assume are related to the DPF which again does not get a mention. It seems strange the connector numbers were re-allocated though. :faint
