Hi all,
I'm looking at a D40 and am of course wondering about the timing chain issue. I was looking at buying a warranty for the vehicle which has done 100k on the original chain. The condition with the warranty is that the 'timing belt' must have been changed in accordance with manufacturers guidance. I queried a vehicle with a chain as opposed to a belt and they said the deal was the same.

My question is does the D40 service book state a mileage that the timing chain should be replaced at?

Can someone with a D40 service book answer this for me?

Thanks in advance folks.

Officially, the chain should last the lifetime of the engine, however, they seem to die from 60K miles upwards. Some have made it to 100K with no issues. Mines done 80K, and is in with Billcar in a week. I will be ÂŁ1200 lighter, but a whole lot happier for it.

Don't waste your money on a questionable warranty. Fit a Billcar chain conversion and look after your truck and all will be well :awesomework
