Be careful with black bolts, unless they're coated black. Black is usually the oiled finish which will rust instantly. I would be using stainless security torx if i were you, its what i supply to replace the existing bolts when mounting my light bar mounts on the front feet of the roof rack.

No problem rich, have a full security bit set so that's not a problem. The ones I looked at were black coated yes, not natural finished but it's only a colour at the end of the day I guess! Just need to guess the correct length now!

Absolutely make some tests on worthless material before doing anything on the roof!
It seems easy, and in fact it is, but not the first time. There is no way back when you start drilling the roof

Actually really proud of myself, never really done anything like this before, first time drilling a roof, first time using riv-nuts and a riv-nut tool, all siliconed around each edge nice and clean and popped bars on and all 16 aligned up absolutely perfectly really, really, really chuffed with myself! Bad thing is as soon as I was done the Mrs took the truck to the stables and left me with the astra for Rugby! So can't keep staring at them until later tonight now! Looks o much better, will make up some stickers monday for the sides!

Well done, but is it just me or are they a little to far forward?

Not you at all carts, I googled a picture and they were roughly 1 inch away from the front, I went to B&Q for longer bolts, and I spotted a nav, had a word with the guy and his were the exact same measurements away from the windscreen, also the curve of the front bracket sits perfectly where it is, if you slide it back the curve isn't right, I was really concerned so went and measured another it this is perfect now from what I've seen, so I am really happy! Look fantastic!

Sooty, just went to look at mine and yea your spot on, for some reason thought they were further back.... Lol

Don't worry I googled a picture and thought the exact same so triple checked before going for it, I would advise anyone to drop the headlining as I followed through with the drill and made 2 small holes! Good job it's going black anyway! Finally get to go home now after rugby and see them, we lost so I don't get paid so these should put a smile on my face
