yeah I just thought I'd finish it before wheeling too much and it seems like a good idea, ended up putting an o-ring in the groove as a temporary fix! :screwy
seems to hold and cv doesn't pop off anymore... but will have to get a new halfshaft, PRG aknowledged there was a mistake but sent him all the photos and will have to wait for him now! :faint
in hindsight (hate saying that! :cry ) and for other guys wanting a titan swap i would pay the xtra buck and get the pre-assembled cv's from nisstech:

taking mine out of the alignment shop this afternoon so all should be sweet.. :nailbiting

i haven't really taken it for a propper drive so once i do i will let you know rob...

Nice stance there like a bull dog squatting for a fight :) Wondering if the manufacturing fault re circlip grove in the shaft is the reason farmerob s shafts havnt arrived yet? ..Hope they arrive real soon .

If using in 2wd I feel at least having the empty outer U/J fitted is essential to holding the hub and wheel on to the baring and would of saved the damage but I may be missing something as I have not had a hub to bits YET lol..

I spoke to a drive shaft manufacturer yesterday who can make the shafts for around ÂŁ200 a pair. At the most they Just need the lengths (any one help?) and one of my Nav ones for spline details , but they could probity get the Titan spec themselves . Dont know how this compares to imported shaft costs?
Keep up the good work guys , hope your up out and away soon ,Thank you all for sharing and the photo`s...
good to see the sun came out :)

The pro shafts are usd450 so your guys would be on the mark..
more issues for me when doing the alignment grrrrr. ...will this ever end?
The inner sleeve of the LA bushings is just a little too short so when breaking you can here a little click from it going back and forth.
As it doses that it messes up the cam bolts and alignment....
Called super pro and I have got a set of bushing that was discontinued because of similar problems...had to order a new set of bushings which won't be here until mid next week. I just can't seem to win! And I had prepared myself pretty well for the swap.
This after noon I'll try and put a washer between the sleeve and frame to spot it moving. ..

Chears Krankybulk,
sorry to hear about your bush being trimmed too short , I would of done the same and slipped in a washer ,You must have a very understanding alignment guy, most in my area end up letting me get on with it as there not capable of more than adjusting tow, Then giving me a big bill...:-(

Your cir clip groove packing is along the lines of a mod i did to hundreds of Italian miss manufactured valve stems and seats in soudi.(I used nylon ring to pack out rubber "o" ring)

Dose the drive shaft actual dislocate from the UJ when fitted to the pick up?

Thank you for the reply and info links etc much appreciated :)
Rely hope your issues are resolved soon , She is looking good alongside the other "lifted" pickup. :)

There is a lot of time which goes into a t/s and everything doesn't fit together perfectly as me and kranky have found out. It does feel like never ending problems at times, having half a kit doesn't help. Kranky thanks for the link to the assembled half shafts and camel towing to the custom built ones. I may be in touch. I don't want the same half shafts as kranky with this grove which is too deep so have left Greg a voice mail asking for a refund on the shafts which would be easier and quicker. Not that he replied to my two previous voice mails. Am going to have to vent my frustration on club frontier if something doesn't happen in the next month.

You would of thought a complete conversion with all the components delivered in one shot would of been the order of the day , but i read problems with availability of shocks, shafts and items that are incorrectly machined and additional items like of centre bushing needed and even those incorrectly machined.. GGGRRR its so ingratiating for me sitting on the sideline.. i realy feel for you guys.

Im at the stage of wanting to lift my D40 suspension preferably for more travel ,3" but now getting greedy :)
originally wanted to do a bolt on conversion as im still under warranty lol. but thought of Solid Axle Swap a couple of years down the line using ether Patrol or looking at Unimog portal axles.

Once i hurd of the Titan swap i thaught it sounded a good intermediate solution , without having to get the angle grinder out.
Looking on fleabay there are reasonably priced Titan LCA`s and complete drive shafts with UJ`s (Although from what i gather the Titan UJ`s are not compatable to Navara ????) im assuming the shafts have the same splines, companies selling the complete shaft and UJs wont supply just the shaft.. I was looking at modified UCAs (prefrably rosejointed and with drop rather than a solid bush , More difficult to align but the ajustment is there .

I tried a couple of motor factors in uk for Titan LCAs and shafts but none i contacted list them.
So my local motor factor`s supplier of shafts can custom make a shafts for me .

Krankybul`s LINK TO dIRT KINGS own uca and lca `s look nice and tasty with all the issues coverd..

But then its shocks im looking at wanting as much travel as possible at reasonable cost , but would consider a coil over and making a top mount conversion to 3 bolt from loop .or do i just cut the strut turret out and go full coil overs with shock loop??.... Any advice/links please?

I have good machine shop access and could fab most of the components .

This week I MUST DECIDE what road to take ,trouble is i want it Quick . GGGRRR.

the nissan navara gears are 3.692 so to run a titan diff you would need to re gear at least the front. Done properly, the rear also. (The reason i am staying clear.)

if your wanting more travel than me but keep it a bolt on kit, go for a t/s with a drop bracket.

should answer your uj halfshaft question

Some very interesting links and informative reading thank you Farma Rob :) Hope you get your refund ,seams odd you get to speak to just an answerphone not a secretary?
Both of you have certainly done your homework re whats out there Thanks for sharing your findings and projects.
Looking forward to hearing both of you get your issues sorted out, grow a pair of horns and are out to play in your beasties really soon :)

hopefully soon,
new superpro bushing coming in from australia tonight so hopefully that is the last bit need!
http://www.superpro.com.au/tradeview/index.php?view=part&id=SPF3024K

hopefully that is the last!
and yes camel towing, I thought about manufacturing some Teflon washers and putting them in it was only 4 days for the bushing to come so I thought might as well make it properly... :slaphead

it is indeed a bit hard to be the guinea pigs, i can't believe no one tried a titan swap on a thai build navara... and that I was an idiot enough to try it in Vanuatu where you have access to nothing!!! :?
but all is there and nearly finished so.... hopefully it's all worth it and my troubles will be useful to someone else!

tried to go to the panel beaters while waiting for the bushings so I could get the fiberglass on but he is sick Grrr... :dunno

No chassis is still fine didn't bang that bad just faulty lower control arm from manufacturer.....grrrrr
Another failure I dependant of my will...that will cost me a week...
At least I would have helped do a troubleshooting/checklist for a titan swap.... at least my bad luck can be useful for others....

OMG if it wasn't for bad look you wouldn't have any :-( , Thats well out of line surprised it went any where near first time fitted.

Was the bottom arm from the same supplier as the drive shafts? any news on a replacement shaft yet?
You must be well fed up .. So close ,

Get the new arm under way ASAP, put the kettle on, and chill. she will be right soon ;-)

That end is going to take a fair bit of pain to bring it back if your going for a temp fix .

Could i ask for a measurement please? length of arm ie the bushed end against a wall and distance from wall to ball joint center should be close enough for me to knock a pair of adjustable arms up.

Managed to bend it enough to fit...not too badly.... will do for 3 to 6 month enough to get the control arms thoroughly sorted with misalignment bushings an right size ball joint....all ready for a swap later down the road...
What a mission...
