Hi,
I am based in Northampton and have found myself trawling Ebay for Navara/Pathfinder
I have had my double cab defender for 6 years, converted to auto with 195bhp tune.
Great bit of kit when it runs right.
Now running more wrong than right, hence I am here.
Do a lot of towing.
Read good and bad about Navara, but then same could be said of reviews on any vehicle.
Could be joining the ranks very soon.

Hi Philip, :welcome

Your old Defender sounds like a bit of a beast. I'm sure a standard 190 or a chipped/remapped Navara will fit the bill but a 3.0 V6 Outlaw will keep you extremely happy.

The Navara is a great tug and by all accounts the auto is the model you want if you do a lot of towing.

Good luck with the hunt :thumbright:

Navara vs Defender - nice to be able to drive without bashing your right elbow every time you turn right!

Love the Defender, but as they say "Land Rover - making mechanics out of owners for decades".

Unrivalled off road though. Had a Disco 3 a few years ago, was excellent but expensive to keep running.

I've had it 7 years.
I love my defender, 200hp remapped auto.
Was outpacing my mates Navara and then took a roundabout a bit hard and the rear passenger door flew open.
Recently the immobiliser immobilised and I couldn't take it anywhere for 3 days - it then fixed itself.
Its become more temperamental than me, one of us needs to go.

But the upside is that is worth more money every day. Give it a couple of years and you won't be able to buy any defender for less than ÂŁ15k.

And be prepared to regret your decision to sell it too. I wish I had kept my almost mint Series 1 and the V8 90 County as well. If I could have my time again I would have bought a car for everyday and hung on to them, saying that i would have done a lot of things differently, but that is another story :)

Yep, I had mk2 escorts including 1600 sport and rs2000 - worth an absolute fortune now.
Yup hindsight is a powerful thing
When I past my test (nearly 20 years ago)my dad gave me his mint condition factory black 2.8l brooklands capri (even at the time was rare in black)
I couldn't afford to fuel/insure it so i straight swoped it for my mates 1.6 sierra sapphire
Scraped the Sierra a year later for ÂŁ40
and you can't find a decent brooklands capri now for under ÂŁ10k :(

Hello.

Oooooh, a Crapi erection Brooklands. That was the one to have. :hug
I had a Mini cooper 998 years ago and scraped that. The engine alone is worth a bomb .....Oh well..:rockon

Loooool it seems i'm the only young guy around here, listening to grandpa's  Mini cooper, Ford Capri, Sierra, Escort, ...

Some say E30 325i are going up in values, some other cars are:
E30 324d, E36 325i/328i , 911/912/930/964/993,....

But its a risk. Tho i find that cars should be bought to be driven and not to be in some sort of garage with 20 layers of sealant and wax.
