Hi,
Could be the engine speed sensor, if it not removed before the trans is removed the sensor is damaged.
You should first retrieve DTC from the ECM.
I remember my old mechanic telling me that, apparantly mine was broken on my old nav (or damaged) but didnt cause limp mode. He just told me to order one and drop in it as its a 5 min job...never did get around to it

limp mode only kicks in after 2000rpm then will stop it reving above that one limp mode is on, as anything upto 2000rpm is deamed safe to drive the vehicle to get it off the road or to safty.

hey you guys ! Roberto here from trinidad, i recently changed my clutch, sometime last week to be exact, and the mechanic broke the CKP sensor, since he changed the sensor, the vehicle keeps going into limp mode, when i pull off and cross 2000RPM the power just shuts off and then cant go higher than that

i had 2 mechanics check the van after and they both ran diagnostic tests on it, one said to change the sensor, the other said to pull the gearbox back down and clean the flywheel,
now, while reading the service manual, i noticed that there is a way to clear the diagnostics without the use of a scan tool, so i followed the instructions and it worked,
today while heading to the mall, i hit the highway and while on 6th gear i was doing about 130 somewhere around 3500 - 4000 rpm and the van went back into limp mode, not it only goes in limp mode around that rpm range,
i have no other means of transport and to find a good mechanic in this country is hard as finding a needle in a haystack so please, im asking for the wee bit of advice that you guys may be able to give, im out of ideas, and begining to worry my ass off,
PS: i didnt replace the new sensor as yet, but i may do that tomorrow to test the theory listed above,
thanks for your help in advance guys,
Roberto.

Looking at my crank sensor, sitting on the desk, also changed clutch and fouled it up. Glad am not the only one in a devilish kinda way.
