Hello everyone

So my parents got a D40 from 2006 (automatic) and its my daily drive. Now since i love that particular car soooooo much, i would like to do the maintenance myself. But i do every year a big maintenance ( even if it is not required) but i have heard horror stories about D40 not being reliable so i prefer paying a little bit more in maintence and hoping it helps not having enormous bills

The big maintenance is:
-Changing engine oil (i believe its 5W 30 and 9 liters?)
-Oil Filter
-Air filter ( yes this is easy     )
-Fuel Filter
-Did i forget something?

Since i am not a mechanic and never done this before, i am really afraid to do it, but if you could post pictures or send me links on how to do it, it would be great. because Nissan Dealer charges me around 450€ or around 350 Pounds.

Me and my Navara thank you very much for all the help you can bring to me! :partycheer: :partycheer: :partycheer:

if you have no idea dont do it yourself, either dealer or independent mechanic if you know a good one like i do

Well having no idea is a bit exaggerated. I know where those items are, i just don't know how to replace them as you can see on this picture: http://www.navara.asia/attachment.php?a ... 1343038808

The thing is i don't want to pay the dealer so much money and there are plenty of mechanics but i don't really trust them....
My maintenance is in july so i have plenty of time. I just want to know if there are diy video or pictures on how to do it, because i didn't find them...

Thanks anyway

filters and oil are easy but maintanance is not you have to be looking at a lot of things not just 3 filters and oil
brake fluid, transfer case oil diff oil bla bla bla is not easy to do and you also need tools to do it, a slight mistake will cost a lot of money

Oh i wasn't talking about the dangerous big stuff like you said: Brakes, transfercase, differential....

For safety reasons and peace of mind, it will be done at a nissan dealer. But like you said, the regular maintenance isn't that difficult. I just want a require a bit of help thats all

Changing oil and oil filter are the same on every vehicle, the locations of the items are the only difference. Find a YouTube video...

The one thing you overlooked is that any service will include 30 or so safety checks. These will include tyres, brakes, suspension, steering etc. This is as important as the oil change and is the reason Nissan charge so much.

Again, YouTube is your friend, don't worry if you can't find a Navara one, any pickup will do.
