I think the rear tailgate will give the tonneau/shutter and canopy manufacturers a bit of a headache trying to seal against the shape

I do think the current D40 bumper with the step is better. I actually use that step so I can reach in the back without opening the tail gate.

Does anyone know when the order books are going to open for the NP300??

I WAS thinking about trading my D40 in for an Amarok, but discovered yesterday that all production is now being transfered back to Argentina and orders may take up to 30 weeks!!

From this angle i'm with you, needs a better picture from above to see how the tailgate and the tub connect.
Reminds me off the current dodge-trucks, but the put a bit more thought into it.
I guess the Hardtops will look rather strange, either the "spoiler" will protrude or the top will have an odd shape.

Hi Jake
If the VW dealer I had dealings with is anything to go by, I'd advise you to be very very wary of them in terms of attention to detail! I thankfully saw the light and have just last week picked up my new Outlaw V6 which I absolutely love!!
Also if they're moving production from Hanover back to Argentina I think the build quality might suffer??

Hi Laminateman,

I've got serious doubts about VW Customer Services, the current Amarok brochure AND their dealers!!
Why the hell hasn't their top of the range sat nav/audio unit (RNS 510) got the facility for Bluetooth Connectivity?? It says it has in the current brochure but I've discovered that's a misprint! I wonder if it's hooked up to any speakers?
Production is being moved back to Argentina to allow Hanover to produce more vans. I agree with you that quality will suffer, as Argentina are already busy producing Amaroks for their existing geographical locations.
Think I'll hang on to my 10 plate Tekna until the NP300 hits the UK market.
Has it been announced when the order books open for the new model?

here in Cyprus the face lifted D22 is called the NP300 ? now I'm confused :? :slaphead

NP300 looks like the d22 but it came out at 2008 with some "upgrades" but it had a d40 motor, rest is the same.
so they might as well want to keep the same labeling, like they are doing in heavier trucks like cabstar NT400.

Steer well clear Jake!
Get yourself a V6 which has everything you'll need I reckon. Going back to topic, I'm not a fan of the new "NP300" The current D40 at least stands a bit out from the rest but the new one looks like its trying to be an Isuzu D-Max! I'll reserve judgement until it hits the UK though and it'll be interesting if anything changes from what we've seen?

Only just found this thread and read thru all pages. I would have expected better looking lights, especially at the rear, given we have LED technology. From the pictures it appears to have the usual bulb lights. It looks quite good from the side but a bit sissy from the front. Praps the accessory traders will make some better looking ones. The cabin and dash look better but as already been said its different coloured plaggy. I wonder fits got Nissans Smart rear view mirror

Don't understand a word he's saying but you get a good look at the new Nav.

Still not sold but I do think it looks better in real life than on picture.

It was when I saw the pics of the new nav that I decided I wanted a old nav.

The running lights are very cool and I will wait for Alibaba to provide a supplier of an upgrade kit for the old style. Apart from that - if I want a mans Tonka toy then the "old" nav is the one. If I want a tarts dress then I will buy a "new" nav.

Ali baba hasn't come up with any decent led lights for the "old" nav so far and it's been going since 2005 :eyeroll
