Sorry, cars are those things with a boot at the rear, a Navara is a Truck or even a pick up truck, definitely not a C A R though.Zaphod said:
It has to be right, if people referred to cups as saucers, we'd all be in trouble wouldn't we?

My daily drive is 65% B roads, and 35% motorway. I reckon if I did a long motorway journey, it would return almost 40 mpg.
The [s:1qj56tlz]C A R[/s:1qj56tlz] Truck( and I do call it a [s:1qj56tlz]C A R[/s:1qj56tlz] Truck  ), has pretty much all the toys you could want, is extrememely comfortable, and surprisingly rapid.
Previously I had 3 Mitsi's which returned 24 mpg at best, and all committed suicide at about 130,000 miles.
Other than it would cost less, I can't see any real advantage in buying a Euro 3.
I tend to think of a Qashqui (sp?), or something with a haldex system like a Audi Q5 as a SUV. To me, anything that has proper four wheel drive is a 4x4.Lil'Trucker! said:The Pathfinder is an SUV
It's forward thinking of the L 2 0 0 to include a clothes rail in the load bed for all those pink suits. They really understand their client base.navman rich said:unless you know someone who owns one of these.
THEN ITS A SKIP
If that caught on it would be the perfect description!Kray said:Well its decided then, i now drive a Navara Truckle![]()

The term carriage is a 4 wheeled vehicle specifically for carrying people. This has been abbreviated to c a r, even the Romans used the word carre.
A truck was a simple load carrying vehicle with no sides or roof. A few centuries agoit was called a truckle.
A wagon was a truck with sides and a roof.
Lorry is an exception, it has no obvious root.
So if the main purpose is people carrying, it is a c a r.
If the main purpose is carrying a load, it is a truck.
Inherently loads of other vehicle terms have horse drawn roots: cab, cabriolet, chassis, coupe, sedan, etc etc.
