Hi long time no write.
My manual pathy is completely fine when driven in auto setting. If I drive it in 2wd setting it's seems fine in 1st second and I think 3rd but after that the traction control keeps cutting in. It's not under acceleration it just when cruzing along if I push my throttle down any furth even a a little. The traction control cuts in until I release the throttle and change down gear of switch to auto. I've had a mate plug it in he says the only fault that is registered it steering direction sensor calibration.
Obviously I understand how these could be related but I'm just not totally convinced. Has anyone had this issue before? Can it be recalibrated ?
Also unrelated but when I use Cruze control for any length of time lke 15 miles or more the 4wd light start flashing. Doesn't make any diffe to car and goes off if I turn off then on again. Possibly gearbox switches I think for that bit.
Thanks for help it's much appreciated.

I would have said possibly gearbox switches. Maybe if the steering position sensor is a red herring, it's because as the wheel is turned, the ECU expects to see a difference in the rates at which the nearside and offside wheels turn (via the ABS / wheel sensors) :dunno

Yep I think you could be right about the switches on the 4wd light flashing. I do have a neutral switch and one of the other switches left over from when I had my navara but don't think they are the same in nav and pathy.

my 1 series beemer did this, and that was the pickup ring on the driveshaft had corroded giving the 'pooter false readings. No idea if these things have the same type of system.

The pickup's are just a mild steed ladder type of ring which is pressed onto the hub end of the driveshaft, and a sensor pokes through the hub reading it.(on a bmw that is!)
