Vibration from transmission?

Hi all, hope all is well. My 2003 2.5 Nav D22 is making a god awful rumble and vibration when using either 3rd or 4th at 1500 - 1700 rpm, nothing before, gradually dies out as rpm increases. Generally running at 30 & 40 mph. If I pop it in 4wd it instantly stops then resumes when I disengage 4wd. She's my pride and joy and I'm a tad worried.

If this waffle is too vague, please do ask questions.

Have you been under for a look?

Check all the drive and prop shafts for play, particularly any union joints.

Check your fluid levels and have a look at your tyres and check for bulges, were that balanced recently?

And check for play in your wheel bearings.

It might be worth removing the front propshaft. If that fixes it, change the Universal joints on it.

Do you have freewheel hubs fitted?

I've got the original auto hubs fitted. Can I still take the prop off with these?
