Hi guys been a while since I've posted on here. I was wondering if anyone has done an engine conversion of their Nissan Navara YD25 to either a TD27 or TD30 Terrano engine and of which is the best to put in and instructions of how to go about's it.

I've just had about enough with the YD25 messing up the big end bearings and after 3 engine rebuilds i'm sure its time to do a :eekout runner from the engine. lol.

If anyone can help would be greatly appreciated

Ok so I think I may have just gone and lost my mind n done a dumb thing lol...time will tell.. :confetti :confetti

So i've gone n got a qd32t engine to replace the yd25 one. So far i've drooped the gearbox and now swapped the bellhousing to fit on to the engine. Now currently waiting on the manual pump, flywheel, pressure plate and clutch for the engine as the one on the is and automatic flywheel even though had asked for manual engine :clap when i ordered it . Will try get some pics up of the progress of how its going and hopefully not a bad choice done despite being given an auto engine.

Thanks for the advice, will def do that. Will be some tinkering here n the to get the hoses running through the intercooler and that, but def on the to do list. :)

Got the engine imported from South Africa, its a qd32eti

Hold on...QD32 has no turbo, right?
Or I just haven't seen turbo versions?
Diff might need changing and bellhousings.
accelerator pedal will need changing to have a cable type, maybe even drilling a hole.
Mashona cables can do a custom cable for you.
Are you selling the old engine? Am in Zim.

Depending on which QD32 you get, the one I got has a turbo already on the side. Will post some pics when I can...

Bellhousing has been changed on gearbox to fit on the QD32Eti, just waiting on the manual pump to arrive n remove the electronic pump n off course fit in an accelerator cable.

Yeah mountings are different so will have to do some engineering on the to get it right, haven't got to that stage but taking it step by step.

Am selling the old engine mostly as spares as opposed complete. So far for the cam shafts I've managed to squeeze in a clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, bellhousing and manual pump for the qd32t from a car breaker here in zim as someone is looking for a cam shaft from him... In all a gud deal so far but only handing the stuff over once the engine is fitted and running.

Fellow Zimbo as well, I'm in Bulawayo and yourself.

qd32 is a beast in all those years i have only driven one and loved it.if my engine ever goes bad (which means never) i will get one of those traktor engines in like the td42 and drive it for another 30 years.
Nissan engines until 2000 are absolute beaties and never let you down. shame its produces garbage atm like nissan altima nissan maxima quashai and whatever ugly gutless frankerstein show they can think of

Wasn't really tempted to go for the VE30, qd32 sounded more economical to my pocket at the moment and like Stelianos says, it's a beast.

I must agree Nissan engines after 2000 are a bit a hit a miss with getting that wont give you any problems.

For example the old mans Nissan Hardbordy ZD30 South African make and manufacture has been running for the past 14 years and the only engine problems its had was with the alternator a couple months back and 2/3 new batteries over the years now... Now that's what I call a beast, lol

Been a while since i posted, havnt done much since last post as got really busy at work and no time to spare on the truck. Just a quick update as the converstion has started.

So last left it at changing the bellhousing to fit the QD32 engine only to realise that I didnt change the input shaft :eek:ops :nailbiting . I know on the td27 you have to change that but for the QD32 would it still be the same as well.

YD25 with TD27 bellhousing and shaft sticking out.

Will test out the gearbox setup and engine on Monday and see if it would bolt up bu bit optimistic and be tacking the gearbox apart again. Alternativley i could get an adapter plate to cover that gap :really

Taken out the electronic pump and fitted mechanical pump on the engine.

Manual flywheel, clutch and pressure plate fitted on to the engine.

Mounting needs to be moved, will get to that part hopefully this Wednesday or early if i dont have to mess about with gearbox.

Just having a crazy idea if i do go about going the adapter plate route. On the YD25 engine the was an adpator plate between the gearbox and engine with the cranck sensor mounted on the adaptor plate. Just thinking if i go that route and make an adapter plate to mate the gearbox to the qd32 engine and make a hole for the crank sensor again. Crazy idea but hey got the time to make mistakes and that lol :drunkensmile :drunkensmile :blaghblah

You can say that again fatha...So far i've pulled the gearbox apart to get on with swapping the spigot shaft for that less 1 inch clearance, will be putting it back together tomorrow once i've removed the current spigot shaft. Thought would be an easy job, wasn't I wrong :nailbiting :nailbiting , bit of close swearing here n the to say non the list. But in all progressing well. Will be complete soon hopefully lol
