Hey guys and gals,
I hevent posted for a while because iv been crazy busy with work.

I have had the truck a while now and not had anyproblems and randomly last night the engine light came on and the airbag light has started flashing.

Has any one had this before or does anyone know what it means?

Any help would be great full.

It' strange they are playing up together. Is your battery connected tight?

As Propshaft says, have a go at reading the ECU fault code (s). This might help with the airbag; viewtopic.php?f=45&t=8088

Ok so I did the code reader and it came up with 4-10-3. I also tried the airbag reset and that doesn't seem to have work but I will try again!

Your reading doesn't quite make up the 4 digit fault code but Propshaft's interpretation does sound plausible.

Do you have an EGR blank fitted?

What is the age and mileage on your truck?

Have another go at the ECU reset to get the fault code. :fingersx

Hey Guys,sorry i haven't replied sooner.

so a little update, the engine management light went out but the airbag light has stayed flashing, but since we have the heavy rain yesterday the engine management light is back again.

I haven't blanked it off and i haven't checked if it was done before i brought it. i will have a look to see if i can see any evidence of where and what to look for on the forum.

it just seems strange as the truck drives and sounds fine. its due its Service and as i have only had it 1 year might just get a full front to back inspection and i think it need the chain changing so will get that done. does anyone live in the Hertfordshire area and can recommend a good garage that knows what there doing when it comes to 4x4's?

i will do another ECU re-set this afternoon and get another fault code too.

P0403

P0403 EGR Volume Control Valve Circuit

Try cleaning out the EGR valve, failing that you'll need a new valve

No but if you do it you could write one up :fingersx

It will be straightforward.

Disconnect the battery, negative/earth lead. (This will reset the ECU)

Remove the EGR pipe at it's centre flange and at the EGR valve (two bolts at either end?). Leave the coolant pipes attached and let the pipe hang loose. (No need to lose coolant).

Four bolts hold the valve in place on the inlet manifold, remove them and allow the valve to hang loose (leave the small coolant pipes attached).

Using a solvent clean up the carbon on the valve and the inlet tube.

Reassemble and test, if it works. Fit a blank on the EGR and consider this; viewtopic.php?f=9&t=66409

If it doesn't work, you need a new EGR valve along with the modifications above so you'll never have that problem again.

i haven't cleaned the EGR valve yet but i have just had the air bag diagnosed and they have said its: Drivers side Air bag igniter circuit and the fault is an Open circuit. Has any one else experienced this? i have been toldi need a new ring circuit that might cost about £300-£400
