Looking fantastic there mate - but boy she's got a hefty rear end now! When you going into production on those rear bars? :)

I wish i had more time Neil! I was equally concerned with the amount of rear overhang, but its certainly 10x better than it was with a 2" lift and my towbar! I only caught it on the stupidly steep stuff, like the everything flying forwards in the cab, not the kind of stuff you find anywhere apart from pay and play sites kind of steep stuff! Even when it did, it dragged itself off no problem!

And Mark, Yes.

Last time i ended up with under the carpets full of muddy water. I was still going pretty deep this time, but a lot faster and shorter sections and i diddnt get a drop in. I think the first time it was caused by one water run in particular, it had a soft bottom and was a good 25-30m long, so i ended up spending a good 20 seconds with just below the windows in water, which i guess is fair enough for the seals to leak. Having said that, a couple of the seals do have holes in, but i cant find an aftermarket seal for them currently without going to the dealers.

Ok, So i got bored of the old grill so decided to respray the original and refit it. Scuffed the chrome up with a DA and primed it with 2K wash primer, then topcoated with 2K matt black;

Filled in the badge with a red paint pen;

So heres the old (removed the hella spots to make this easier)

And the new;

I also swapped out the rear telescpic lights for some 90w versions and they're now like a mobile sun. Quick shot of them lighting up my street;

Thanks Rob, yer, im much happier with it!

I made a start on my shorter tailgate straps. The deal is that i want to fit a gas strut between the tyre swing and the bumper, so it controls the opening and closing. Currently the tailgate opens too far (Actually past horizontal) so there isnt enough room for the body of the gas strut between the tailgate and the top of the bumper. My solution is to make some slightly shorter straps (Only 15mm) to lift the tailgate a little higher. Anyway, heres the start;

Machined up a bit of 304SS into my 4 little adaptors;

6mm PVC coated galv cable with 316 eyes at each end, with a MBL of almost 4 tonnes, maybe went a little OTT here!

I'll get them cut and the other end fitted today, then bolt them up and hopefully i can start trying to fit the gas strut!

They're a great tyre, but so **** in the winter. Started doing stuff with 4x4 response where i need a tyre that performs in snow and ice and that certainly aint the KM2. Maybe going to sell my old set whilst i'll still get money for them and pick up a new set next year.
