Hi Guys,

I bought a D22 YD25 Navara in Feb this year (09 model) and its been great. I am looking to increase performance though and am not very technically minded so am looking for options from you experienced guys out there who have done it and made it work. I know the D40 has a lot more power with the same engine and wondering how do I get that power levels in my D22 ? After any easy mods (and hard ones) and ideas that will achieve this. I have seen examples of mod chips working and air filers and higher turbo psi etc, but what gives the best bang for the buck so to speak ? Any help or valid ideas would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Hi there and welcome on board,

The best option for you to obtain more power is most likely going to be a chip or ecu remap and exhaust. Unfortunitly although the eng it's self is the same as the D40's the other components aren't. The D40 runs a different turbo, intercooler, ecu and other things which is why it produces more power.

Guy's like http://www.eng-tek.com.au do a few bolt on bits and bob's to increase your eng power dump pipe and or full exhaust systems plus chips.
I run a vector tuning chip in my D40 and I checked there website to see what they offer for your eng and according to them you start with 98kw and 305nm and after fitting there chip come way with 118kw and 370 nm so that would be a good gain.

I'm shore that some of the Aussie guy's will be able to point you in the direction of other Oz based companies that can do chips etc for your eng.

sweet as mate, much appreciated and yes this boards is really good, another question though. How can I get some bigger rims on it ? ie 4x4 mud terrains, people talk re sunraisia and what not but not sure how big it will take presently or when I give it a lift. Also how far can it be lifted and approx costs ? are some lifts better than others, been doing heaps and heaps of fairly full on beach driving (will post some pics later tonite) and also some nice cross country and muddy driving was heaps o fun. The only issue is though that I also have to do a fiar bit of highway driving so would like to know the impacts the mods might have on that.....

will be organising the exaughts this weekend. whats the difference between a dump pipe and a full exaughts ? or do I need both too ? also what about air intake ?? all you help is greatly appreciated! :afro:
