Buying a 06 Navara

i am lokoing at buying a 06 Navara, however it comes with no sat nav. and i am really wanting one with this fitted. have found one on ebay and was wondering how difficult it is to fit. and are there different sat nav models i can get.

if anyone could help me out with this it would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the site!
I appreciate what you are looking to do, and the sat nav is DVD based with the unit under the drivers seat. There is only one type of sat nav, but the DVD discs do get updated every year or so.
TBH mate, if i were you I would get a very good TomTom type one from Halfords, and use that. The buiilt-in sat nav is nice, but it also manages the radio and other computer stuff like fuel economy. I think fitting one would be a complete bustard, and it doesnt do post code searches or anything, you cant put speed cam alerts on it, so as they go its not very good.
Most people prefer on of the double din units whic have radio sat nav, reverse cam and other features all built-in, and would be much easier to fit!

Runs on Garmin and has speed camera updates unlike the Nissan ****. I wanted to update my outlaw to the Aventura sat nav with the screen, but kenwood does a whole lot more. jmo

might sound like a bit of a muppet but anyways, if the unit is dvd based... does it play dvd movies or can it be modified to play them? thanks
(im also buying a 06 which has sat nav)

the OE unit does not play DVDs on the screen, although some on here have added bits to get tv, reverse cam and stuff on the screen :thumbleft:
