Oil filter

and, if you find changing the filter difficult, you are doing it wrong.
I looked at the Oil filter then got the garage to do it:clappy:..... But if you think that's awkward try plumbing in an oil presur gaug as the take of is by the side of the filter down in the depths !!:faint

Hi guys when I first brought my truck the first thing I did was get everything ready to do a change the minute I got back on my drive first time finding the filter didn't have a clue where the bloody filter was I ended up taking the wheel off and the inner lining out that wasn't too bad getting the filter out . Do K&N do oil filters for or trucks ? .

12500 Miles????? Without doing an oil change? I know that these days with ordinary current oil you can do a lot more miles but 12500 can't be right. I would say max 10.000km or 6200 miles. I suppose i love my truck a bit more or maybe i'm wasting more money :???:

The service interval on a V6 is 12500 miles or 12 months, unless your using it in severe conditions according to Nissan.
That will be right ......for the UK. other markets may specify different intervals.

Servicing.

What is the general feeling with the servicing? I have been told my service interval is 18k miles or two years which I feel is ridiculously long. I think a yearly service or 12k will be as much as I'd be happy to stretch to. I presume getting it serviced early won't cause warranty issues.

Look we have got a nissan Micra here and last year it did get its service which was 2 years long. If you don't care about your car, need to keep kosts down, maybe you don't got so much time, then yes 2 years is possible. Though i couldn't do that to my Navara.

Modern oils and vehicle engines have been designed to go further between services. Back in the 70s when I first started driving 6000 miles was probably as far as you'd go, now 12000 plus is more likely. As landmannnn has posted, frequency is probably most important, along with using quality oils and filters. Have attached Nissan's service schedule for the D40 V6 auto:study:. I do around 10000 miles a year, have a full service with the MOT and Love My Truck:awesomework
