Euro 3 was the 1st out of two engines, more power more polution :afro: I have driven 4x4's for years now and due to the high center of gravity you cant really slide these things, they slide but come back into line with a BANG!! Go around a corner and feel the back end start to drift, bring it back into toe and its wallop, not the best feeling in the world, hence the 200+ BHP, eaze it around a corner then nail it :clappy:

I think it all depends on what you are used to as well. I came out of a RWD 285Hp BMW, had a 350Hp BMW before that one...My wife's Murano has 235Hp...But to me that is all just nonsense....The torque figures is what makes the difference, and the DTE box or a remap not only bring lots of that but also smooths out the curve a bit more...Net result a much more relaxed drive with go without much delay...And then there is this little thing of being able to maintain speed no matter what angle the road is....

But too me it still feels like a heavy large lump of metal moving, so what it scary to one person still feels lethartic but a lot better than standard to someone else...I still haven't got my rear end to slide out, but then again I do have an automatic so I loose a bit in the converter....

All I say is don't knock it until you've tried it :D

Well said JP, and why anyone would want the back end of a 4x4 to lose its back end is beyond me, when they go they snap back because of the high center of gravity, you wont power slide these things around rounabouts in the wet or try. Get a sports car or the new VXR Astravan, fooking expensive, but looks a bit tasty on paper.

You slide in 3rd gear? I would seriously consider changing your tyres as something is not right there  :thumbleft:

Depends what and how you drove before perhaps  Never had my back end go on me apart from once, going around a large roundabout at about 60 in the wet going onto an M way, power was in its sweet spot and took the back end out, that was years ago. Never floor a 4x4 in the wet unless in a straight line, and if you carry no weight in the back (mine is loaded with tools) then get to a diy stoor and put 3 or 4 bags of ballast in the rear.
