You need to pop out the mirror glass, be careful as I broke the drivers side and it cost me £52 to replace! If you push the mirror in at the top you can get a thin wooden spatula (from the kitchen) in from the bottom, and simply prise the mirror away from its bracket, but be gentle. Its then a case of removing a few torx screws and it exposes the chrome cover clips which you simply pop out, there is a torx screw underneath the mirror that I had to remove, which can only get access to if you fold the mirror flat (I have the electric mirrors, but you would simple fold the mirrors flat and look underneath for the screw). You can then rebuild the mirror and once the chrome sections have been painted you can pop them off without dismantling anything. When you have the mirror off its worth replacing the 2 x halogen bulbs that are in the bottom of the mirror (my tekna 2012 has them) I replaced them with nice LEDS and its a much nicer light that comes from them now.
Its a simple job that you just need to be careful with.
