Has anyone done an engine conversion to a Nav in recent history?
I know someone did a turbo V6 in a D21, but as the D21 came with that motor minus turbo, i don't think it counts.
What i want to do is fit a V8 into the D21.
I have a motor to go in, a Holden 253 Blue motor. Its a 4.2L carbied OHV V8, with an iron block and iron heads.
It needs a freshen up, but i'll do it before if i decide to fit the thing.
I think i would fit the motor with a Gas research dedicated LPG system, as i wouldn't have to comply with any emissions standards, which helps with rego and engineering.
I suppose the question is , are the diffs and gearbox going to take the abuse of a 150kw, 420nm V8? The transfere case should be fine, as its the same as a GQ Patrol, minus the handbrake assembally, and i have seen those with 383ci stroker chevs attached. With the twin piston front brakes going on, and a rear disk conversion, i shouldn't have any issue with engineering, but i'd like to know if the drive line will cope.
