So apparently Pathfinders are invisible to the average driver, had more people pull out on me in the last month than EVER in my previous cars!
So some daytime running lights were in order.

I got a set from Halfords
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/bu...es-batteries/styling-exterior-lights/ring-lyra-dual-function-led-day-night-lamp
These work as DRLs and night time lights as well at half power.

To install them you need to hook them up to the positive and negative terminals (they are pre fitted with loops.)
Then splice into the side light wire to have the dimming function. If you don't want the dimming function you don't need to bother (but also I'd recommend a different set of lights lol as why buy dimming?)

I ran the cables past the rubber waterproofing and past the left hand horn.
They fit quite nicely by the licence plate, but it's a little fiddly to screw them in.

Once in and on they work great, almost as bright as the headlights.

There's some tidying up to do, I'm going to enclose the cables in some conduit to hold them and make it easier to cable tie them up.

*pictures to follow as my phone died*

Pictures!

Here are the battery wires and inline fuse (I tucked this out the way behind the battery)

Running the wire behind the rubber waterproofing strip

The wires running across in front of the radiators (these will be tidied away in conduit soon!)

The side mounting Allen bolts.. These can be fiddly if you put them too close to the bumper plastic

Installed - Full power daytime running

I'll take some night photos when I get a chance to show just how bright they are

Just a personal opinion, but, could you invert the light in the bracket to have the wider side on the bottom?

Like I say, just a personal opinion but I think it would look neater.

You can, there's nothing to stop you. In fact they mount that way for upwards mounted installs.

I only have them that way cos it says TOP that way up and I play by the rules ;)

mm sorry not a fan they look "added on" kudos for the effort but personally am thinking hids or better still leds in the foglights wired to cutoff with the main lights think i can count on 2 fingers the number of times i have used front fog lights in 25 years driving.

The only reason i would install them is that modern drivers seem to be looking for DRLs now so no DRLs and they seem to miss the 2 tonne truck coming down the road!

Thought the Diming wire was for indicating?

do you mean the DRLs that are fitted to the likes of Audi's that dim when the car is indicating? if so that's a different function, DRLs show dim when dip beam is active.

They dim when the side lights are on, as it's illegal to have bright extra lights with dipped beams.
(Driving lights come on with full beam)
