They say the first steps to being clean is to first admit your problem. My name is Paul, and I'm a car nut. Currently I have an E91 BMW 330D which I've spent a lot of money on, purely just handling and on the engine. It's currently running 354bhp and 585lb/ft of torque, but some how I still manage to get over 40mpg on a decent run >:)

I don't yet own a Navara but I am looking to get one because of the forever growing family...mostly dogs. Trying to fit 2 dogs, 2 kids and the wife into my current car isn't exactly easy.

Paul.

Welcome Paul we all have motor madness
Cheers. I'm just keen to get into something bigger. The 330D was more of a spur of the moment buy and it made me realise how **** it is for my needs lol. Nice car, but I just need more space now and especially something that's actually able to drive over wet grass without getting stuck.

Similar scenario for me mate, currently rocking a lowered, tuned custom Mercedes Vito. Great head turner but naff for a landscape gardener ?. A spur of the moment buy for me after my last van died, now doing a straight swap with a bloke for a Navara next month. Can't wait to get back in something with no low profiles ???:cheers2:

Hello & Welcome

Maybe you could also posts some pictures of your 330d

Offcourse it won't be anywhere near as fast and it won't be as fuel efficient but it will take your wife, kids & dogs wherever you want.
Thanks, I'll get some up later when I get home. It's nothing impressive, not even an M-sport model. I bought an SE to keep the plain look, upgraded the suspension and brakes then worked on the engine. Even the engine looks original because all the work has gone into the internals and the original turbo transformed into a hybrid by Midland Turbo. So all in all it's pretty much just a sleeper>:) and looks original.

Aaaaah that's what I like most! Sleepers!!! :cheers2:
I'm also trying to make mine one a sleeper (which also keeps costs down :really). So i'm curious on how yours looks

Hi and welcome,

Make sure you do your homework on the various Navara models before you spend your hard earned. http://www.nissan-navara.net/16-thinking-buying/

If you've any questions don't be afraid to ask, :thumbright:
cheers. After some research I've decided I might aim towards the D40. I have a rough idea of the concerns of each model and I've got a keen eye so hopefully I'll bag a nice one. At the end of the day nothing is perfect. when I bought my 330D I was reading horror stories about snapping timing chains AFTER I bought it, only to find out after some homework the 330D is the most desirable because it didn't have that problem lol

This is it once I got the lowering kit on and brakes sorted. Took a while for the front to settle. Looking in the engine bay you can't tell anything has been changed, even the turbo is original it's just been bored out and bigger turbine fitted. I'll get some more up later or tomorrow, this is the only one I could dig up on my old photobucket account. It still looks the same, the only thing externally I have changed apart from the brakes and suspension was the horrid runflat tyres lol

It's parked on a tiny street in Wales here when I was visiting family, literally the road isn't even wide enough for cars so I don;t know how i'll get a navara parked there when I eventually get one lol

Well you might want to consider one last mod. The bmw "316d" badge for absolute sleeper madness :happy0071

People will be like: lol a slow 316d and then be like: whuuuuuut???? :jawdrop

What happend??  :cry :pale: :throw
Haha, I was thinking of doing that, but any "beamer man" knows you can tell the difference between the different engines by the exhaust tips and because I already made up a new exhaust with a twin exit (which means that model is either the 325 or 330) I couldn't be bothered to change it to an oval to really make it look like a smaller engine.

I normally get those "what happened" looks anyway, or they just hang their heads and completely ignore me lol.

I'm making myself sound like a right **** of a driver lol, I may add I only really troll people with leaving them in a cloud of smoke if I can see they need putting in their place, I don't go looking for trouble or speed everywhere. Otherwise I'm a family man driver, although it's safe to say my kids are only 5 and 6years old and they have my car bug already and on the mountain bikes too...sends the wife potty :thumbright:
